As requested, a TDXL of my A1423, with apple scissor switches. However much I don't like these, admittedly at least they're quiet xD .

All I'll say is THIS is how to do a desk setup that involves an Apple Magic keyboard.

'Nuff said, I suppose :-)

Well, I confess that on occasions I do use the A1243 60% version for its diminutive size, weight and silence. Sometimes the massive, heavy and loud IBM 5291 Bigfoot is just too much! About a factor of ten difference in all dimensions!

The A1243 can be tossed away across the desk with ease, not the IBM!

Weeeeell... the Apple Magic keyboard in that picture does still have a purpose.

Not long ago, someone jokingly said that when I died, I surely would be wanting to be buried with a keyboard of mine. So I retorted something along the lines of "Are you kidding me?!" (but with... chyros-grade... wording), and then I said that when I DO die, I want to be buried with THAT Apple Magic Keyboard in the picture.
Spoiler:
Positioned right under my butt.

That's not a "Apple Magic Keyboard", BTW.

Entry corrected. But that thing is still going under my decomposing butt once the time comes.

Yeah the Magic Keyboard uses the even lower profile butterfly-like switches. Not quite the same they use on the current MacBooks but fairly similar travel and feel. I don't think they have the same failure rate as the laptop boards though. Still, built in non-replacible li-ion battery that will swell and fail in a $129 USD keyboard? No thanks ... I love how Apple promotes how green they are these days (and their fans seem to buy it hook, line and sinker) and yet make some of the least durable, hardest to service, built-in forced obsolescence and hardest to recycle devices on the market.

They didn't always used to be that way, I remember when Apple hardware didn't suck. *grumbles in 35 year old man*
