Hello, I want to share with you 3 of my new adquisitions. They are 2 IBMs 3187 keyboards and 1 IBM Model M122 from 1987.

I wanna know if it's possible to convert the 3187 keyboards to USB only with Soarer's converter and if there is any way to make the Solenoid work. I know that I need a tension booster to increase the tension from 5v to 12v aproximately. I can't afford the xwhatsit controller because in my country is impossible to import things from other countries and also, I want to keep the original board for more originality.

Thanks!

Soarers will not work on the 3178. I converted the 3178 using DMA's commonsense.
Enjoy your blueswitch. this is my favourite model F and I use this as my daily driver....

Do you have the tutorial in hand? and do you know why the back of the blueswitch has some space? it's very rare this keyboard.

Thanks!

Here you go https://github.com/dmaone/CommonSense

For the pintout, here's the one I went with. However, take note that this pinout is based on a previous version of commonsense than whats on Github. The new version has a different default pin assignment. So use my diagram ONLY for reference.

The back of the keyboard has space for the manual...

Its not as rare as you think. They are quite common and not that expensive either...
