Where do you guys store your keyboards?

My collection is getting a little out of hand, I have 6 keyboards at the moment (this number will grow soon) and am pretty much out of drawer space. Since I'm now looking at bigger keyboards because of my discovery of vintage keyboards, my current storage system doesn't really work anymore.

What do you guys do?

Only 6 keyboards? I've got close to 60. They're all stored in my computer room.

The side tables have wide shallow drawers each containing 3 keyboards. The rest are in the closet across from the desk.

Two drawers and space behind one of the cabinets in my office. Not ideal, but it's enough for now (ten keyboards).

Mine are not so neatly organised... Because I have limited space, most of them are together in a few larger boxes under a desk. The boxes are stacked, but the keyboards are vertical in each box. The top box has the keyboards I use most often. Other keyboards are in the cardboard boxes they came in.
Fixed cables are wrapped in empty toilet paper tubes and/or plastic bags so as to not touch case plastic. Never wrap a cable around a keyboard! The plasticizer in a cable could melt ABS plastic over time and leave marks.

Ikea KALLAX for larger collections, and Ikea LACK for smaller collections. I keep my boards on a LACK, along with a few smaller LACK shelves on the walls

So many of them are worthy of it xD . I barely have room to display all of them as is! xD

I have a shoe rack to display most of my collection, can fit about 16-17 boards though most are full sized or larger so you could put a few more smaller boards on it.

Many are indeed such ancient artifacts of power, they have to be locked up in a box  .

It is a pity to keep them closed in their postal boxes. I think you have enough room in that corner to set a Ikea BESTA up as I made with mines. What do you think of my Ikea low cost solution? Consider anyway that I slightly modded it adding some extra shelves, some of them were also further modded with the addition of a couple of sliding guides on both sides. It was very easy to arrange. The led light strip then, is the "peasant" note that puts the icing on the cake.

Hi Chyros, your collection is amazing.... but you have to do something. I see on that wall a nice Ikea Besta windowed fitted furniture like that I publish here but with many more shelves. Think about that!

The positive thing is that this piece of furniture can be completely closed to dust with special doors... :D

Thanks for the tip, but I'm not sure that would fit, either the room, or the keyboards xD . Also, man, expensive!

Of course, glass windows like shown above the the nicest you can get... :D

Very nice! How Dust proof are the IKea type units? It's pretty dusty here so one reason I favor the boxes is to protect the boards from dust. I might think of getting one of those units and putting the very best boards in it...the beam spring, one of the model Fs, one or more of the blue alps boards, maybe the Ortek 122...

No doubt that is an impressive display but my keyboard will be sitting in cardboard boxes PROTECTED FROM UV LIGHT all the time.

I might be a bit paranoid but most keyboards have seen more than enough sunlight in their life, it's time to put them into eternal darkness

That Ikea BESTA setup might be something I'll have to look into. Looks a little bit cramped for getting Battleships and Battlecruisers into.

Yes validus, for the f 122 you are right. Mine seats on the first bottom shelf and fits just in. You need to slant it so that you can enter it in, but consider that in that way it is thief proof

Regardless you can actually buy UV film for your windows or display case if you are worried. Like a museum display case.

Look what I found today in my post box this morning.....instructables
Although it wasn't thought for our beauties, it is seems the perfect furniture to store keyboards in a single place. It doesn't lack of sliding shelves acting as trays, it'd need window doors, though to keep dust and direct uva away.
