LTT Does Dye Sub

Seems no one's posted this here yet, Linus Sebastian has posted a tutorial on key cap dye sublimation a couple days ago:
That process itself isn't new but it's the first time I've seen it on video.

Has anyone made a bigger rig to DIY whole sets in one or two passes? Sourcing Cherry-profile or Alps mount caps in my usual layout has so far proven impossible.

Yeah it looks like it could turn out well if you put a shitload of money into proper equipment.

I actually hope that this video brings some more custom dye sublimation people onto Etsy or wherever people get these custom keycaps. I would love a keyboard with just 104 dickbutt keys or something, you know what I mean?

I'm also interested in it as a short-run product... sort of like what WASD offered but with better materials quality.

You can actually get at least one set of okay PBT ALPS blanks now, so I'd be more than willing to drop USD50-70 on competently lettering them.

Perhaps PBT would require more heat to dye sub? I wonder if there is a difference in process..
