Honestly, I think it’s an underrated switch. The Cherry MX Silent Red is the one that gets all the attention for some reason.

The cherry my silent switches are heavier than their not-silent counterparts. That's easy to demonstrate but long to explain. Long story short, if you buy silent switches, be prepared to replace the spring. They're wonderful switches in my opinion, even though I didn't test silent switches made by gateron or zeal pc.

I have a Cherry G80-3494 with silent black switches and I love it. It doesn't feel heavy at all, and it's infinitely more quiet than the same keyboard with brown switches. I thought that Topre switches were my endgame, but this cheap and flimsy G80 is really wonderful to type on. I bought another set of silent black switches and installed them in a Das Keyboard 4, but I don't like them at all in that keyboard. They feel way too stiff.
