Packard Bell 5130 - Is this fixable?

Hi All

I have picked up a Packard Bell 5130 locally. Pretty dirty but it wasn't expensive. I have a §PS/2 to USB converter so plugged it in. No keystrokes are registered unfortunately. I get three flashing lights above the numbpad. Any thoughts on what might be wrong?
Is this fixable?

Note: I have a few other PS/2 boards and they work no problem (for example , 5140), so it isn't the converter/adaptor.

Regards
Finners

Not much of an expert keyboard technician but it definitely sounds like a power problem. You might want to open it up and check if there are any bad connections or burnt out circuits.

I have another thread about this. You can play along and see what hasn't worked so far.

I've been trying to get it resolved for a few weeks. There has to be something wonky with the firmware, that's really all it can be at this point. Neither converter nor actual PS/2 connection resolves it.

I have two others that exhibit this exact same behavior. It's not power. Verified via multimeter and licking all the connectors for that zippy zap feeling.

Maybe just the multimeter.

ok thanks guys. Looks like there is nothing wrong the board, and there is nothing wrong with the USB converter I using.

Unfortunate as it's nice board to type on.

Do you have a ps/2 port you can plug it into?

Good news is these things are a dime a dozen.

Both of mine just blast LED's solid when plugged into a PS/2 port. They won't turn off at all.

It does have a taint of the haint on it. At least the second one I bought does. I think it spent time in an aquarium.

I definitely have the most desirable collection of non-shitty rubber dome keyboards ever assembled.
