I painted my dinged up F122 gray

I've had this f122 for a few years and it's been my daily at work. I recently painted an old terminal M to see how the color would match up to an industrial and I Was happy. I painted my F122 this weekend and changed up a few other things. I think it turned out nice! Thoughts?

I ain't never seen no F122 like that before! I'm a fan of their classic look but surprisingly, I'm into this too.

I wouldn't have pasted the stickers on, but the paint job is excellent.

Several of the F-122s that I have had over the years came to me with broken cases which I repaired with JB Weld, the best epoxy, in my opinion. Since JB Weld is already dark gray, I went to the auto parts store and got charcoal gray "Dupli-Color" which has worked exceptionally well for me.

That said, I go to great effort to treat my keyboards "nicely" so I don't know how much serious abuse the "Dupli-Color" can withstand before flaking off, but I suspect that it is stronger than ordinary paint.

Look nice! Did you tape off the silver IBM label or remove it for the painting?

Despite being a fan of stickers (:p) , I gotta say it's too stickered up for my personal taste.

But damn the case colour and the keys go really nice, good job!

maybe it's about time i get this poor guy painted...

I just popped it off. I didn't want to deal with masking it off perfectly.

Removing metal badges is not that bad. A few drops of old-fashioned cigarette lighter fluid (naptha) in the depression will soften the adhesive in 10-20 seconds. Just make sure that you clean it up thoroughly, it is an enemy of plastic.

I'm still trying to find an exact paint match for IBM industrial grey that was used on the original square badge indy Ms. The shade you used looks a touch darker, but still great!
