Race KB Alternatives?

Is there any other alternative to the RACE keyboard. I ask simply because I do not want a resource hog Keyboard (LED watts).

[*]Love that the fact that the USB cord is detachable.
[*]All the important Latin/English keys are there (near ISO)*1
[*]Has your Chery MX
[*]Compact

The fact it is compact allures me the most, since I personally prefer all the keys to be buttons, the 1.7cmx1.7cm size, like in a typewriter. Including the Return key and my Modifier Keys (ALT or caps lock)*2
Spoiler:
*1 Well, I would also love to develop 40 keyboard layout (Index 6, Middle 3, Ring 3, Pinkie 4, Thumb 4)
*2 I also believe in ON/OFF states Better than Mod+key for typing. Gaming NKRO.
But so off topic. Do you know of any alternatives? If not, it is time to make the custom build.... (wonder what are programmable keys....)

PS
Heavily inspired by someone showing me a bluetooth like one but with rubber dome >.>

Doesn't it have a mode to turn off the LED?

yes, but it is still a resource hog. I should have mentioned that this will be used a lot in places/machines that I want to use Low Wattage as possible (laptops, custom boards etc.).

I might end up buying it if no one can come up with any.

I'll vouch for the Noppoo Choc Mini AND Qtan.

I've been using the Choc Mini at work for a while, but switched to my KBC Poker. The Choc is now my gaming keyboard at home.

You can also modify it to make the USB cable detachable pretty easily.

Note: Mine has Cherry Browns...

Lol guys. I guess you did not read my profile. But I already got one. Use it at work. But In laptop and OS it does not work (FreeBSD, looking to create the fix).

So I guess it is time to make one. Unless dox finishes his first. Thanks for some bunches!

Keycool 84?
Image

Seems similar to the Noppoo in layout, detachable cable, and could be plate mounted. Not sure though, no one in the Western hemisphere seems to have it yet. Does look like it has the same controller as the Keycool 87 (21-key rollover).

White one has lasered keys with red leds. I pulled a lot more pictures from the keycool website, so if you want I can post the rest later. Link

EDIT: Just one final teaser:

I hope I am not wrong, but I think the KBT pure is coming with a non backlit version too.
Information coming from attarian here: http://deskthority.net/achats-groupes-f ... ure#p57160
attarian wrote:Et les KBT pure seront dispo en Blue / Green et "No Light" d'ici 15 jours.
Translation: "KBT pure will be available with Blue / Green and No Light within 2 weeks"

I also found the following on Amazon.fr:
http://www.amazon.fr/Clavier-M%C3%A9can ... 64&sr=8-19 where "Rétroéclairage bleu" is blue backlight
http://www.amazon.fr/Clavier-M%C3%A9can ... 64&sr=8-20 same keyboard but without backlight

Not yet available tough...

If Keycool 84 is real, I want to buy now. Got my paypal and check ready. And if t is 408 CNY, buying right now.

EDIT:
(Need help browsing to the checkout. If you like I'll pay in advance one via paypal for someone to smuggle it for me. I'll include tip.)

According to the translation, yes. but at the least the Caps Lock will have LED, like in the Keycool 84.

EDIT2:
Absolutely stuck here:

EDIT3:
Found my inspiration. It was the Siig keyboard. http://www.siig.com/it-products/keyboar ... board.html

Send taobao link (AND EXACTLY WHAT IT IS THAT YOU WANT TO PURCHASE) to a reputable agent (like qtan or lin). They will check to see if the ad is legit, and if the seller actually has stock. If all is OK, the agent will get back to you with details. You will pay the agent the amount due (cost of item + 7% agent fee (going rate) + 3.5 % PayPal costs + shipping). The agent will take care of the rest.
