It is verified that cherry mx switches will fit the holes in the plate?

I'm waiting for the ebay plate to arrive, I didn't order the varmilo tester.

On ebay, you will find that the 4x4 plate is sold by two different sellers, if you combine the delivery cost, the most expensive one is in reality cheaper.

Hi Everyone,

Hereby just would like to inform the testers have been put back online on the EU CM Store and now include also the NovaTouch' Hybrid Capacitive switch (in stead of the MX Clears).. The USA CM Store will also follow soon.

Please note for now it is as pre-order as the testers are still on the boat to Europe!

It's great that you decided to make a switch tester with Topre, I really appreciate it. It just sucks that it has to be at the expense of MX Clears. If you really had to replace one then MX greens would have been the best switch because it feels pretty much the same as MX blues, while MX clear provides a very different feeling from the rest. I do understand why you did it, though, you don't sell any product with MX clears. If I was starting out right now I would either avoid this switch tester or buy a second one with MX clears.

I had a feeling someone would complain about that! MX Clear is indeed very different from the rest, and deserves a spot more than MX black for sure. But there's the problem: does everyone really agree on which MX switch to dump?

Anywho, that Topre switch beats the others hands down, so it's a little academic! This is the version I'd suggest anyone to try unless they're mad for MX clears. In which case there's no saving them…

I don't even like MX clears Mu! I wouldn't rest until I had tried some, though, because there's a lot of hype around them and I had to see what it was all about.

The ideal solution would be an extra slot just for the Topre switch but I think replacing greens would be better than this because I feel like they're even less used than Clears and can be "emulated" by replacing a single spring on the MX blues :P

Again, I understand the decision; it doesn't make much sense to "advertise" something you don't sell.

I get the points of the MX Clears Spikebolt but looking at our CM lineup the MX clears didnt make sence to have in there as we dont offer it (yet). And including the Hybrid Capacitive Switch from the NovaTouch TKL at least gives many more users the option to get a feeling of that switch as well..

And I really appreciate it Bram, until today there was no affordable switch tester with a Topre switch. It's definitely a step forward.

I've checked for you with my US colleagues, they should also be receiving them in the coming weeks and will be putting them online again as well! Stay tuned!

(But you can also order from the EU store now as we have free shipping included on the testers!)

I'm looking for a switch tester to build a mini keyboard, can the first version still be found somewhere?

For us (in EU) we are all run out of the first version, we only have the new ones now.. Not sure about othe branch but I believe they are also all out.. :(

You cant use the new one? :)

Problem is that the newer one has a Topre switch which I can't wire up to a Teensy (well, not without some capacitive magic, don't know if a Soarer controller could do it).

Thanks for looking though.

It has also been listed on the USA cmstore some time ago by the link below. Please dont mind the image, it is being addressed, this is still the old tester board. V2 is like our EU store shows, including the NovaTouch switch.

Wouldn't it be possible to let people choose the switches they want?
My ideal tester would have 9 MX switches but when I have to go with 6 I'd choose Blue, Green, Red, Linear Grey, Brown, Tactile Grey.

The switches are fixed with our tester, I'm sorry. And no, in this second version there is no MX Clears. There is: MX Blue, MX Green, MX Red, MX Black, MX Brown and NovaTouch (Topre - Cherry MX keycap compatible)
