Programmable Mouse - Multiple Applcations

​It's hard for me to accept that it is so difficult to find a programmable mouse where I am able to program set of commands independently for multiple applications.

I do own one now:

but it is 11 years old and Kensington no longer supports its software, MouseWorks, for Windows 7+.

This was the perfect programmable mouse for my data processing business when I was on Windows XP. I used 6 applications concurrently and was able to, for example, program "Button 4" to perform "Select All" in MS Word. I would on-the-fly switch to MS Excel and program the same "Button 4" to perform "Paste."

I shopped around at Amazon looking for such a sophisticated programmable mouse. Most are gaming mice which its programmable buttons only work for one application.

I bought one hoping I can program commands like my former Kensington mouse: http://www.amazon.com/Redragon-PERDITIO ... B00LSERFA0 It is a fine mouse, but, as predicted, I am unable to use it for multiple concurrent applications.

Is there such a mouse that exists anymore?! Somebody... please help me!

I guess AutoHotKey can do this.

Roccat's Kone Pure (guess that's the same for all of their mice) driver supports 5 different profiles, each profile can be switched on by three different executables (programs).

But I've never tried that feature.

I use a Logitech G700S mouse. It is a 11 button gaming mouse that comes with software to program each button. You have two options to progrem these buttons:

Built in profiles
You can program 5 sets of profiles, each button can be programmed to mouse functions (left click, right click, ...), key strokes, multi key, text block, function keys, ...
You need to program one key to manually switch between these profiles.
The profiles are stored in the mouse, so you can use it on any computer without the software.

Switch profile by program
The logitech software has to be installed on the computer to use this function.
In stead of manually switching between profiles, you assign a default profile and a custom profile to each .EXE on your computer.

As a heavy CAD/3D/Office-user, I use the last option. In general left, right and middel as well as up-down scrolling remains default, but side scrolling to the left is copy, side scrolling to the right is paste. This still leaves 8 buttons that I can program. In AutoCAD I use these buttons to quickly enter multi storke commands, in Word to format text, in Excel insert/delete rows, ...

I think this is exactly what you want.

The software that comes with the MX Master allows you to reset everything for any program.

Yes, I also own two Logitech MX Masters (one for work and one for home) and they provide software to program the buttons for specific applications as you describe. Seems to work well for me (Mac OS X).

Well, if you want a lot of programmable buttons, I highly recommend that you check the Corsair Scimitar RGB Pro.
