The Warmouse Meta looks absolutely retarded. I'd like to try it, though, just to prove my prejudice wrong.

Not sure if I understand fully what they are testing, but it seems to be how many clicks per second you can do. I searched their mouse and it has like 40 buttons on it. This might be something important with a lot of keys, but for a standard 5-7 button mouse, I don't think you'll really need that.

Though on a more relevant note, here is a graph of mouse button latencies:

90% of those are using the same switch. A Omron.

I think it's testing how tired the lab rat was getting.

Actually this is testing how fast there is a response from clicking a button to showing up on screen. In this case, the switch used is irrelevant, since they are all mechanical, and have very small travel. The human aspect was taken out.
I'd link you to the site that did the testing, but the page is sadly down. Maybe someone can find a mirror or cached page, here's the old link: http://sousuch.hp.infoseek.co.jp/DIY/mo ... index.html

That table is a few years old now, and as mentioned earlier, all the original hosts and translations are no longer available. It was a good resource while it lasted. Google 'mousescore' to try and find some of these old articles. You'll find these and and the dead links:

http://razerblueprints.net/forum/index.php?topic=8419.0
http://wikis.jp/interfacedevice/index.php?FrontPage

Also, fire up your favourite translator to find a few of the mice for the Japan & Asia markets listed amongst the global brands we're more familiar with: http://wikiwiki.jp/fpag/

Hah, those results are clearly rigged. I've used SetPoint and no way can the latencies be low on that pig of a software stack.

This is the be-mouse, don't ask me why they tested it:

No one in the "e-sports" communities install mouse drivers anyway. SetPoint is actually know to lower the performance of the MX518 iirc. It should be somewhere on that Japanese wiki that IanM posted. Too bad you need it to change the led color on your mouse.

At least Setpoint is only 25MB after you choose the right version, and Razer is similar at around 33MB. I have the Alienware version of the G9x and Dell make you download a preposterously portly 375MB ! Stupid Dell.

Are you certain this is the mouse in the original article? I saw that Konami thing earlier, but I don't remember it at all. Probably worth testing just for a chuckle

That's the cure for the decline in Olympics ratings for sure.

The last Olympics was the worst. Gave my Canadian friends a big head.

When they start talking Gold Medals I bring up William Shatner.

Yep: http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Openof ... 78&bih=852

You can't polish a turd, but you can put it in a different colour box...

It is kind of cool, but I can't even maximise my more conventional mouse so I guess it's not for me. Someone should make a neural interface! Good idea!

Good to know I'll be able to successfully control a cursor if I get stabbed. I'll go fight in the streets tonight.
