They're pretty cheap on eBay apart from shipping! I need friends in the US...

Send a message to the seller, asking for USPS instead of UPS. If they agree, it should be much cheaper.

Of course, it's either designed for five year old hands, or they shipped it in the biggest box they could find.

You're absolutely right.
We need type 2 and 3 phasers

Everything came in huge boxes back then. Don't you remember the games shelves in high street stores? Four floppies or a CD would come in something big enough to carry an LP and a tennis ball! It was all a ploy to convey having more value, while literally pushing other products off the shelf. And I remember being peeved at how small Super Nintendo games boxes were in comparison. Where was the discount!?

That's awesome. I just may have to get one. I also want the mouse that Scotty used in Star Trek IV.

"high-impact plastic" to sustain those warp-7 speeds*

* use responsibly, warp drive harms the fabric of space, warp speed has been limited to warp-5 by the Federation Council (ref. TNG S07E09)

Romulans give a shit about the Federation

Space time getting damaged by warp speed was to Star Trek what midiclorians were to Star Wars. Damn foolish, downright icky, and best forgotten. Indeed, Trek already led the way on doing that!

Besides, space is frickin' huge and ships are so, so small. I appreciate that warp is pixie dust, but I ain't buying it.

Exactly.
Which is why we need patriotic organizations like section 31 and we need to continue to develop phase cloaking.

Admiral Pressman was a true federation hero.
