Different types of IBM Beamsprings?

According to Haata.

There is a "really nice" beamspring, only found in replacement kits, that differ from regular ones

I have never had the chance to try one (regular nor this one) but I thought they were on the light side. Am I wrong?

Are the replacement kits the new endgame? xD

The NOS replacement beamspring Haata was talking about had the plunger held down with a rubber band to keep the fly plate from getting detached. Being held down for 20+ years could have weakened the beamspring.

That is the only logical explanation, thanks hellfire.

But do you think a lighter spring would make it "better"?

I have some heavily used beamsprings that have lighter springs and some with less use that have stiffer springs. I do not mind the weighting myself, but some people prefer a lighter spacebar. The heavily used ones are also more pingy.

Also, the switches age very well. Heavily used beamsprings are not scratchy and do not bind at all.
