Orders close Monday, July 6 at 9PM PST.

These switches are MX Lock switches, a Cherry switch that locks upon press, and unlocks upon the second press. We are ordering MX1A-31NN, or plate mount MX Lock switches.

MOQ is 100, pricing @ 100 is $6/switch, pricing @ 500 is $5.20/switch, lower if we can get more switches purchased. I'll update the prices if we hit 550.

ETA for shipping is late July or early August.

I will be handling shipping and logistics.

Shipping is $3.50 First Class or $5.50 Priority Mail in the US, probably about $5-6 if you are outside the US. Buyer covers PayPal fee. No GB fee cause I'm nice

Invoicing will start when the group buy closes and after I have received a final price from my distributor.

I put in for 4. I don't need them for anything, and I rarely use any key that would benefit from a locking switch. However I feel like I should at least have some on hand... Or something like that.

I feel the same. I wonder how well it even works when put in the NumLock/CapsLock position for example, since the NumLock/CapsLock state is handled by the operating system and not the keyboard. Seems like it's pretty easy to create a mismatch between the physical switch state and the actual NumLock/CapsLock state.

I've got a couple of MXLOCKs of my own. So I'm all set. But just out of interest, who's the source for these? An MOQ of 100 is way less than the 4000 Cherry was demanding from 7bit!

Our supplier is a surplus electronic supply distributor called C Plus Electronics, here is the page for them. They actually will sell to you with an MOQ of 20 switches, but the price is $9/switch But with low MOQ comes high cost. Ultimately, I'd say it's a fair tradeoff, I doubt 7bit would be able to meet the MOQ

Absolutely. I got my few switches via a similar mini-GB with another retailer. 7bit's unlikely to ever make it all the way to MOQ.
