Noted!

We're now past 1400 of 2000 available rings, by the way. Let's see about opening up orders…

Okay, that's this GB officially Open for Orders!

I updated the first post with all the details.

If anyone has some PayPal collection advice for me, now would be a good time! I've applied to them to raise my account limit, but their UI seems to be a dead end:

"More Information" eh, like WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT!?

Sigh. Anywho…

If necessary, I'll get my brother to collect via his PayPal later on, and I could even turn to Hypersphere if we bust everything! So I think we're good to go in any case.

Is that the spare change recycling machine at Sainsburys? Blech.

Orders are rolling in quite quickly. I'm definitely going to need to buy a bunch of bubble mailers!

Don't have PayPal but I can sent money to a Scottish bank account just fine, would just need to know your costs to receive money by international payment. Last time I did it, it was 2 pounds.

Hmm… we could always barter. Got any IBM or Topre Clacks I should know about?

Pah, IBM or Clacks for some rubber rings? :x

You could use my genuine ignorance of their market value to your advantage…

I'll get my order sorted out once I'm done at the office. Thanks for doing this, Mu!

At this rate, I'll be sold out by the weekend!

We have 2000 rings set aside for us. To manufacture another batch, Hypersphere needs 10,000. I'd get on this quick instead of relying on enough people joining to order all of that.

Things are humming along nicely. I sent Hypersphere the first $500 of orders, paying all of $5 commission to PayPal in the process. Not bad. I'm used to getting burned more than that for much smaller amounts. But that's good old £GBP for you.

I'll PM the people from the IC who haven't placed an order yet. There's enough stock left to cover them for now, but it is moving all the while.

And that's why I'm collecting in dollars. Imagine how much I'd lose for all you guys combined! I'm not even in the Eurozone. I'd have to do it all twice! Insane…

15 orders now paid up. 1300 of the rings already spoken for. And that's not counting my own supply! I think we're about 75% of the way to all sold out now.

Hypersphere tells me he's almost completely out of stock *besides* for the 2000 rings he's set aside for us. Going over 2000 will be tricky and expensive. So anyone in doubt knows what I advise!

Looks like I accidentally undercharged the 62 ring orders (aka HHKB) by 3 rings each. Doh! I'll be a gentlemen and let you have it. Not a big miscalculation, but these things all add up. Fortunately most orders have been for 90 rings (TKL) and weren't affected.

Anyone know a good cheap source for small bubblemailers? I'll need a couple of dozen!

Posted: 13 Nov 2015, 16:29
by derzemel
are they expensive in UK?

In Romania you can get one for about 0.08 GBP with 100x165 mm internal dimensions. That would be 1.8GBP for 25 of them.

I see them at £1 for 5 in the shops here. Not brilliant. This is ripoff Britain, you know!

You will soon be in the US. Such mailers can be found in a number of different types of shops. They are quite cheap.

You might also want to pick up some cardboard inserts to help keep the mailers from getting bent.

I just found this link where they seem a bit cheaper:

http://www.dhgate.com/wholesale/searchd ... 1121075500

I searched for anti shock (shockproof) bubble envelopes.

Worst case scenario, you could get them in the US (you are going there anyway), where they might be allot cheaper.

Heh, my luggage is already due to be full of NeXT keyboards and Unicomp caps! Perhaps bubble mailers would make decent bubble wrap though…

Yeah, I need to get my trades sorted out before I fly. Right now, it's bucketing down with rain and as dark as Mordor here in Scotland. My desk is full of Surprise Box goodies, and I'm rummaging around for boxes. Plenty of action to come, once I figure out the containers and get some bloody space back!

I'm going to pay Hypersphere soon and grab his stock. Once I've done that, this GB is essentially closed. I'll be ordering a little over the number we need, but no more than a single extra order of stock, I think.

So get on with it if you want in, people! PM me or stand aside.
