Cherry MX switches and stabilisers for plate mounting

For the Phantom keyboard, we need up to 99 switches (without diodes[1]) and some plate-mountable stabilisers.

Does anybody have information on where ( :? ) to get these, or what the MOQ ( ) is if we order directly from Cherry?

Thanks!

[1] No diodes in the switches, because they will be on the PCB.

I'm getting some stabilizers from kbdmania, where there will be a group buy for use in the KMAC. Taeyoung might be able to inform you or point you to the right person to find out their source.

Hey there,
I have a source for switches.

Here's a short quote of the mail:
Cherry MX blue MX1A-E1NW
Cherry MX clear MX1A-C1NW
Cherry MX brown MX1A-G1NW
Cherry MX black MX1A-11NW
Cherry MX red MX1A-L1NW
Cherry MX green MX1A-F1NW

Lieferzeit: 3-4 Wochen
VPE: 800 Stück
Mindestbestellmenge pro Taster: 1.600 Stück
Preis: 0,44 EUR / 1 Stück
That means, they have a lead time of 3-4 weeks. Minimum order quantity are 1600pcs and full packs, while one pack contains 800pcs.
One switch would be 0.44EUR

EDIT:
I forgot: They could supply anything from Cherry if we can give them the specific order number.

:D

I forgot the most important:
To the price there will be added the VAT, which is 19%, so one switch would be 0.5236EUR.

That's quite expensive.

800 switches are for 8 keyboards, so this would be OK.

I think we should start with these prices and when we find another source which is cheaper we go for that.

MX1A-11DW (Black slider with pin & diode) : 110ea = USD $59
Around 42 EUR compared to 57.
Even with 19% VAT included, it would be 7 EUR cheaper.

edit:
MX1A-11NW
MX1A-11DW

What does the D mean if not 'Diode'?

pm 2 kbdholic sent.

Hey there,
Just called them:
Prices have fallen to 0.33EUR/switch + VAT
So it would be 0.33*1.19=0.3927EUR per switch.
The girlie told me, that I should request an offer, so she could use accurate prices, but for that I need an average number and which type you need.

I don't know how many switches are in need.

7bit keep in mind that we must order at least 1600 of one switch type. Then it goes upwards in 800pcs steps.

We need:

MXRED
MXBLUE
MXBROWN
MXCLEAR
MXBLACK
MXSTAB200
MXSTAB400
MXSTAB625
MXSTAB700
MXSTAB1000
MXGREEN
MXGREY

All with diodes.

800 keys in one box is for 8 tenkeyless keyboards which should be no problem.

Is there anybody who knows the correct order-IDs?

I will set up something to collect orders....

Wohoo, you're going crazy.
I don't know if Cherry can manufacture stabilizers with diodes ;)

But we demand FULL n-key rollover including stabilisers!

I read the cheapest Cherry switches are the ones from Taiwan.
Look at how much armygroup charges for 1 switch. 0.25 Euros before shipping, that's some crazy price.

The ones they have however, are plate mounted and they do not have diodes.

Why would you go for swiches with diodes? The PCB of the Phantom is designed to have the diodes on the side of each switch, no? Switches with diodes will not even fit the PCB.

Edit: The same goes for stabilizers. The PCB drawings you guys have up do not support any stabilizers. I see no holes for them. I don't think Cherry still sells any of the "plate mounting" stablizers and you probably would have to hit up a Taiwan company for those.

 :?

Edit: OK, changed the first post.

We need plate-mountable switches without diodes and diodes separately.

We need plate-mountable stabilisers.

Why 99 switches for the phantom? I thought that with 90 would be ok.

I've just requested an offer from my source about specific prices for everything but the space bar switches and "dark blue".
Hopefully I get an answer this week.

This is how we jump start the economy: One group buy leads to 2 more group buys!! :)

KL's $90 for dye subbed Signature Plastics is sure one way to jumpstart the economy. Japan is doing well selling $120 ABS spacebars I see too.

Damn, and to think my 2nd post at Geekhack was saying people who paid $35 for Topre WASD/Red Esc keys were crazy.

\KL's per key price is not so bad compared with Topre's!

Has SP just started doing Dyesub? KL's group buy and the nyancat keycaps are the first time I found out SP does dyesub. The nyancat keycaps look pretty good, except the resulting colors of putting dye on non-white keycaps is a crapshoot.
