Apparently there is some small demand for the acrylic keyboard case that I designed. I am not so sure If it is worth it myself due to high cost. If you are interested in getting one for around $150 + shipping to EU, please PM me. if we do a group buy, most likely I will do just one color scheme, unless there is enough demand to support 2 schemes.

Here are a few pictures of the acrylic cases I have made so far. The group buy case will look closest to the white/blue case in shape and design. Other pictures are for color scheme comparison.

Black acrylic doesn't handle finger prints very well. It is similar to gloss piano finish. White is actually the same way, but because it is white, finger prints are much better disguised. I think because of this I will do white for this group buy.

I am sorry, I only have Filco and Phantom (haha, I am the only one with a Phantom currently!!). PLU is supposed to be an exact copy of Filco (but with 2KRO and much inferior PCB). I don't know about Ducky. I am pretty sure Leopold won't fit.

Mounting it is very easy. The hardest part is opening up the original Filco case. If you don't know how to do it, it is almost impossible or you would feel like you are going to break it. Ripster has a wiki/mod post on how to open it. Basically you use a dull knife and slide it in between the top and bottom shells, pry open it enough to let the hooks from the top shell come off of the bottom shell. There are 4 hooks on the front and 4 on the back. Pry open them one after another. I have done this so many times on 4 of my Filcos. I can do it pretty quickly now.

I think I have enough demand to meet my minimum order for this group buy. Consider this is closed. I will send more info later. Thanks.

Sorry for not posting any update for a while. This work thing and Phantom Group Buy really got in the way . I have made a couple of small adjustments last week. I need to make one more change and need to confirm it before I kick this off.

Turned out it took much less time that I thought. Local shop that I can drive to FTW!

Now it is still going to do some magic to make it Filco compatible. It is going to take me all weekend if not longer. I still have hardware parts arriving on Tuesday. After that, I need to put every case together, and then figure out a good and efficient way to pack these. Then print some labels, lots of tapes, trips to the post office, etc, etc. So I won't be able to ship these out for at least another couple of weeks.

Meanwhile, Hopefully I will have time to post pictures as I go.

They are already cut, by the shop. There is more work to be done on them by me though.

Ragnorock on Geekhack is organizing a group buy of a set of red on black 87-key set with an add-on kit for Phantom (1.5x modifiers and 1x diamond keys). Also available is a 104 add-on set. There is also an ISO add-on kit if it reaches 15 orders.

I think this set would look pretty good with my black+red acrylic cases.

For the first time, here is the opaque black with transparent red acrylic case. Keep in mind that the red will actually be darker when a keyboard is installed in the case and block out some light.

Btw, are you using the boltheads as feet?

I use rubber feet as feet. Metal parts can't touch the desk surface.

I have not. I don't have a PLU. But from pictures I saw, PLU case is very close to Filco's, if not the same.
