It is indeed possible to change a single switch on a plate mounted Cherry MX keyboard. and it should be quite easy to do. I could tell you how to do it, but I think it will be a lot better for you to watch this video by WhiteFireDragon:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQ_2GxeR ... zw&index=4

it's a very long video (which I apparently watched all of) but one of the only I have found that illustrates how to actually replace a plate mounted Cherry switch. I highly recommend jumping a bit in it, but still watch most of it, as it contains more than a few important tips, If you have never tinkered with keyboards before.

The last keyboard I actually repaired was on an Apple II Platinum. Quite a different animal (and a total PITA to repair btw).

BTW: I'm going to change the prices to EUR any time soon, because I don't have to do any more payments to the US I can't keep a fixed exchange rate. If you preorder and pay, the old prices will remain valid for what you paid, but new orders might have slightly higher prices.

so no more fixed rate? does that mean we could even get lower prices? :D

This makes me want to order now, before I get my sample switches. However it would be unfair for you to have to offset the differences. I was leaning Clear, but Green may be the one now. A stiffer blue, I love blue, but the springs are too light, especially for my gaming preferences. I considered Blue with a Black or Brown spring, but I read that this changes the switch click and tactility. Brown is great for gaming for my tastes, but when I am typing I miss that click... And no, I am not a very good typist, just a picky one :P

Also, 7bit, have you made any headway on adding springs/diodes/leds etc.etc.? I believe you mentioned it earlier in this thread, just wondering if you had given it any/more thought.

Currently I don't have anything. I plan to make LEDs available with the Hyper group buy, but sparate springs will not be available, becuase I don't know a source for them.

I will change the pricing system to EUR today!

Everything which has been ordered now, will remain in the old pricing scheme, even if not yet delivered or unpaid!

Hi 7bit!
Just received an invoice for my order. There's part i did not understand:
Please choose your payment method (send a message to CherryMX):
PAYEUR
EUR bank transfer (Europe only)
PAYPAL
PayPal payment (US only)
What does (Europe only)/(US only) mean? Can I pay in USD via PAYPAL even though I am located in Europe?

Yes, you can pay in USD via PayPal. You don't need to choose any payment method, BTW.

However, in the very near future, you can only pay in EUR no matter if PayPal or SEPA payment.

Yes, whatever I've got in stock will ship as soon as possible.

I usually ship at least once a week.
