I'm going through Kramer clips...hilarious.

I'm imagining a few people having way too much to drink watching clip after clip after clip on a big screen...lol Thanks for posting webwit!

utron is 400GBP, shipping is 150GBP,

so 550 total, but if we split shipping between even 6 of us thats should theoretically go down to 30 odd + 10 reshipping.
so £110 saving.

we could still ship for you, but it might make sense to do a separate GB on GH

good man, im only there for classifieds and the odd other tibit.

em okay, well tell you what depending on the demographics of the group buy, we will choose where to pick an organizer from. shipping will then be averaged out so everyone pays the same regardless of location.

does that make sense?

unless the guys making them decide to give us a bulk discount, then yes.

You don't need a Utron or some Kinesis Freestyle frell, you need a TypeMatrix 2020-like but with mech switches :D

Typematrix are shit. They are not ergonomic at all.

I don't talk about switches, which are obviously lame, but about the matrix layout which is more ergonomical than miss-aligned rows. ;)

It isn't ergonomic unless your arms grow straight out of your chest forward.

You just forgot the big constraint of width they had to use it under a laptop but you're right it's just I didn't claim it's ergonomical, I claim it's more ergonomical than a standard miss-aligned KB. And I was talking about the 2020 model, not the actual 2030 for whom they makes weird choices.

The Utron and Freestyle are frelled : a TECK or an Ergodox feels more ergo.

IMHO : Standard 104/105 < TKL 104/105 < Freestyle2 < TM2030 < Utron < TM2020 < TECK < ErgoDox (and I still don't talk about switches, just about the layout)

IMO the TM2020 and the TECK suck too. The TECK layout is so clueless, if heavily favors the weak ring finger and pinky over the strong thumb. Seems more designed to look cool. Btw, you compare the feel of uTRON to TECK and Ergodox. Which ones do you actually have?

None, I tested a TECK during one month and I agree with the lack of thumb use but I really didn't feel any overuse on rings and pinkies, maybe a question of bad habits on std kbs and muscles training with bass playing… but for sure I'll never buy any of them because I've ever my own idea of thumb-shift kb (I'll translate it in a qwerty layout and create a thread for it to have more critics).

This is the worst problem because they will charge A LOT for them.

RougeRambo

by customs do you mean import tax?

Yes. Unless items imported to you location don't get hit with that tax?

i only get hit with 5% on anything above £200, i live in channel islands. I could reship from here, but would you all get hit when i reship?

Well, I'm not interested in this group buy, but I'll answer anyway: In Germany e.g. you have to pay multiple fees for importing an item. You have to pay taxes and you have to pay customs. The customs cost are what you have to pay for importing the item, and the taxes are the ordinary taxes you would have to pay if you bought the item inside of the country. The taxes are 19% of the value, and the customs cost I don't know currently. Also you have to note that you have to pay 19% on the value of the item, including the customs. Also it's very complicated, if it's possible at all, to not pay the taxes for an item, if you're not a commercial trader, even if you plan to send it to another country.
