RedMarket now open!

I am ready now to continue selling my boards. Now I have a site to accompany it since forums are i'll suited for this volume and I have no interest in selling on ebay.

https://www.redmarket.store/shop

Items will be added along this week, and I am open to any recommendations in regards to the design of the site.

Happy shopping!

Wow, If you only had opened your shop a week earlier I'd have saved my 130$ for a focus fk 5001 variant a on feebay...

Anyway, good move.
Why did you decide to sell all your collection out?

Truly tragic, especially since I have three

Well, much of the boards I acquired I planned to sell anyway. But I didn't really have time to ship and keep up with sales as I was busy with college and other things. So now I'm ready to go and eager to get some boards to happy users :D

The Sherwood board is interesting; they were a famous American hi-fi company in the 50s and 60s. By the late 70s, their kit was mostly made by a firm called Inkel in South Korea. Wonder if they also made the keyboard.

Interesting fact with Sherwood, the amp on my desk is a Sherwood AD-2210 CP and I have no desire to use a modern product. This amp has fit my needs for as long as I can remember and will continue to do so.

Yeah someone already bought them, its something I don't see elsewhere that much. Definitely Quieter than a normal M.

They're pretty rare. I think you underpriced them.

I think you can make your own, it's something I've been meaning to try for a while now. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=14302

No worries. I seen one for sale a while back but assumed it was a rubber dome. This solution seems to have been a last ditch effort to stem the tide of the rubber dome takeover.

Please do and share your results. I think the most reliable way to do this might require disassembly of a Model M as to avoid getting grease on the barrel plates. Also of concern would be anything which might harm plastics over the long term. The other downside is if you ever need to remove the grease from the springs. Sonic cleaner would probably aid in this though.

Would be neat to experiment with floss mod, foam, and grease between the Model M and Model F.

Edit: I think it was a fair price based on condition plus. Gotta remember eBay isn't getting their cut from Red Market  I see one on eBay for like $200 that is missing some keys (replaceable) yet has been for sale for a long time.

If the grease goes only on the springs/flippers, let's not forget Unicomp still manufactures and sells those. That could be a good option for dealing with the experimentation.

I'm positive I could charge more, but the whole point of Redmarket is to be affordable and allow more people to acquire these boards they want. So I don't mind getting a little less than market value, especially if that means I lower prices overall in the community

I don't think so, at least not right now. The only reason I'd want more boards is for my personal use or to resell.

Great store! I like the aesthetic and your prices are very fair. I'm definitely gonna keep an eye on your offerings.

Glad to find the store online.

How about the shipping? World shipping or location restriction?

It looks pretty similar to the Wyse LK201 clones, and similar keyboards which were sold under other brands - so I would suspect it's the same OEM. It would also be interesting to know whether they are Wyse or DEC compatible (the DEC LK201 and Cherry G80-1306 run off 12V, whereas the Wyse boards run on 5V)

I ship anywhere but buyer pays. As said on the site due to the different number of locations its quite hard to get an accurate rate for international. So if your shipping is off PM me on discord and I'll refund the extra through paypal.

Have no clue, haven't tested the Sherwoods. I agree they do have a similar construction and keycaps to Wyse boards.

I noticed that you are using an image as your background and I have to say that this is not the greatest on the eyes. My suggestion is to make it more of a neutral colour so that people can see the products properly.

Is this based off the most recent website design? I made the background for the shop page more white so the lettering would have better contrast.
