Three Micro Switch (Hall Effect switch) keyboards for sale. One appears to be complete, the other two are not. The middle one has been butchered by the previous owner. See photos for the state of the boards.

Not sure regarding the price so I'm open to offers.

The switch plate is the same as that on the Space Cadet. The PCB is very similar but not the same. In fact, the PCB can accommodate the same number of switches in the same locations as the Space Cadet's PCB. The connector also appears to be in the same place. I wouldn't be surprised if it was electronically compatible with the Space Cadet. The firmware would obviously be different.

In a lot of ways the Space Cadet keyboard really isn't very special. It was just off-the-shelf components assembled without modification from a company that cranked out a lot of these in various configurations. What makes it special is its place in history and its wacky key legends.

^ This. I actually have a Micro Switch board with the same PCB part number and layout that the Space Cadet used yet it will never be an actual Space Cadet.

A couple of these look like perfect project boards with so many missing keys and no cases, especially for something as cool as a Space Cadet clone.

Thanks! It just occurred to me that it was your Flickr album of your Space Cadet that has been incredibly helpful to me. Thanks so much for putting that online! I'm not on this website often enough to keep track of usernames, so you might have seen my project already, but just in case you haven't:

Sorry, guys, all three keyboards have already been sold but haven't had the time to update the thread.
