WTB : IBM model M Indy SSK (1395682)

Hello there,

Long shot I know. ;)

After lurking around, I wanna thank you all for all of this knowledge and passion. Thanks.

Next is the hunt, I’m looking for my unicorn the IBM Mopar Indy SSK.

I was about to start a restauration process but finally I though that it would be nearly impossible to get where I wanted.

So here I am, if by any luck someone wanted to sell it, I would be a pleasure to take care of it.

Thank you all :)

Jean.

How much are you offering? Most sales of these are pretty steep prices

Those are certainly far easier to come by in the US than international. You might offer something up in trade to entice someone who has one to let it go.

ps - MY PET PEEVE - display of nationality should be a requirement, especially in any buy/sell related post.

I know ... I leave in France but I can display everything you think appropriate :)

I don’t know how much even though I know the price range for these. I’m not looking for a brand new one with its BM.

One in its 28 year shape without any major issue would be perfect :)

You just need to display All Of The Money. Aren’t these like a grand or so nowadays in any condition?

Yes, it's something like that for the ones with blue caps, even heavily damaged ones sell for several hundred $. Not sure how much the ones without blue keys go for but the requested one has blue keys anyway.

Is there a bulk discount for both? Every SSK must go!

I'd keep the left one. The right one has all kind of nonsense like QWERTY printed on the keycaps for which I have no use.

Well I’m also considering buying just the case of anyone has one laying around. Your price is mine :)

If you are to be satisfied with a "Frankenboard" one of those industrial top case shells would be the ideal starting point.

From there a substandard SSK and some blue caps from Unicomp would get you in the ballpark at a price that was not astronomical.

I could do that. But even just those SSK top shells are $ur€£¥ you-know-what…

good luck in your search. I have always found it curious people pay such a premium for small keyboards. I've always preferred the opposite. The bigger, heavier and more buttons, the better!

I'm afraid I passed them on earlier except one which I keep as a potential refurbish part for the 1395682.

ah that does make sense. I've seen pro gamers and it always amazes me how low the sensitivity they have set their mouse to, using huge sweeping motions of the mouse arm. I am sure it makes sense in games for better accuracy or something. It also made me realize my mouse sensitivity is always cranked way way up because I can move the pointer from 1 side of a 43" 4k monitor to the other with a tiny wrist movement. not much space left to work with when typing on an F122 battleship
