Do we know what causes such uneven yellowing? Or was this ment to be like that? The numpad for example really doesn't look like some random key yellowing.

Obviously such German sets were made from ANSI sets where only differing caps were replaced with caps made from another, non-yellowing, material.

I really have to start selling more of these boards ...

But yeah they will probably call me in the next 2-3 weeks. It's a gamble every time, sometimes I walk home with three crappy keyboards and sometimes I take home 27 partially awesome boards ...

Actually desoldered one of the switches to make sure they are REALLY blue Alps and not some clone since the Wiki doesn't mention blue Alps in this particular keyboard:

Nice prey! I feel so ... lucky to be committed to the ANSI layout, keeps envy at bay in situations such as this one :D

I'm confused. Is the blue Alps board a Chicony KB-5181 or KB-5161? The stamp on the plate indicates KB-5161, which I thought was known to include a blue Alps version (?). In any event, nice find!

Yes!

Spoiler:
Seems like the case thinks it's a 5181 and the internals believe they are 5161. Sorry Seebart, I was too quick.
Thanks for all the awesome feedback. NIB blue Alps are pretty sweet!

Well technically they are 5€ each!

They told me I'm at 68 now according to their notes...

One guy from the place talked to me about keyboards a little and asked me if I could find him something. Got a G80-1000 with mx blues and thick L caps for him ;)

Resize your effing images before you post them! It should not take eight seconds per page to scroll through this thread!

Better now?
Resizing the images is not an option, I want to keep maximum details to show tear & wear on the keyboards.

Doesn't dissolve in acetone, feels disproportionally slippery.

Christmas came early this year. As did I ... twice!!!

Remember how I got 27 keyboards on one day?

Well ... today I got 30 keyboards ... and I even applied my new, higher standard. No more Thick-Laser-PBT caps and no more exotic switches.
