My first find of the year. I acquired these from a local electronics scrapper just a mile from where I work in a small little town. The deal worked out great as I was able to trade off some computer parts I had no interest in. He also had a couple more 3279's ruined by water damage but had already scrapped them

IBM P70 - It actually boots to Windows 3.11. I am missing the drive but do have the cover.

The keyboard on this is a bit dirty but feels spectacular.

Just a tad wet and muddy after being pulled from a garage.

I have never seen one of these with the manual. Unfortunately this one is completely waterlogged and moldy.

There was also this but decided against adding it to my collection...at least for know. I was actually able to see this Northstar system actually boot from it's system disc so that was neat.

That last one looks like something for snuci's collection, although if he adds much more the ground under his house is going to swallow it up.

This computer was way more impressive in person. I can't image what it would cost to ship this his way.

I've had two of these elude me. Which model was this and what was he asking? Shipping would be ridiculous but I'm used to that if the computer is inexpensive. JP! PM me.

I feel the same. I wasn't sure what to offer, especially with two high priced specimens listed on greedbay. It's not going anywhere anytime soon at least. I think I might try and find some more stuff to trade first. Also I think if I get a storage rack I would feel better about acquiring it.

I really have to start searching for recycling centers and scrappers. Awesome find!

Don't go by those asking prices. That's the reason why they are still there. There are two models of Advantage. There is the normal CP/M model and then there is the 8/16 model that also runs a very early version of DOS. There are also models with hard drives but that would add another 10 lbs to an already hefty unit. In fact, the weight is what keeps the price down. They are not that rare and people tend to shy away from them because shipping is a killer. I've seen them sell for as low as $100. In my case, people have just refused to ship to Canada because shipping is more than the unit is worth. Personally, i think they are pretty cool and I have the earlier Northstar Horizon so it's nice to fill in a manufacturers line.

If you do go for it, offer $100. That is a reasonable offer. If it does DOS, it is worth a little more.
