Which one of those was ISO in the first place? I can't tell the difference between each.

I'd like to join the club. Am I allowed to?
With this board my Model M collection is nearly complete. The board I got from @Puree is in an amazing condition. None of the rivets are missing, it is clean and practically like a new one. Originally I planned to convert it to ISO, but it would be a shame to pop of the rivets. So I ISOfied it as far as possible. Instead of the Print-Screen, Scroll-Lock and Pause keys I placed media keycaps I got from Unicomp. I planning to build an external Soarers converter box sometimes soon, so I'm able to map media functions to those three keys. Regarding customization I did not want to do an "RGB mod" as it seems rather common. So I went the light blue way, which I kinda like.
Proudly presenting my SSK:

It got back to me, and it was good. And then I decided to transform it into something unique: the XXK.depletedvespene wrote: ↑Unless, of course, my other SSK takes that place (once it gets back to me).
Yes, I had posted it on another thread, but it has to go here as well, doesn't it?

You dont get the embedded number pad if you do that right ?
I know at one point webwit ( i think) was selling replacement controller chips for SSKs , i wonder if you put one in a normal M controller it would work ?

Wow, an industrial SSK in ISO, what a find! How many are known so far, including this one? Three, maybe four?
I only know two: the one that tinnie found, and one that sold for a pretty high price on ebay.ca quite some time ago, if I remember correctly.

I personally only know of the one tinnie found but I haven't followed it that closely. That one is apparently the same "version" as mine. While mine has the Iso-de product number his had the Iso-uk part number. There should be other versions too according to the part number wiki.

Just the difference of the color makes the price of 1000+$?hansichen wrote: ↑The boards itself are the same, just the colour is different. They are very rare and sought, an ansi industrial ssk with blue caps already sold for over 1000$

IBM prices exploded quite a bit... The blue keys of these car repair shop indy SSKs are fairly neat and I hope that people pay extra for them. I wouldn't expect a normal indy ssk to fetch such prices but you never know

Welcome! It's a bit surprising to discover you weren't a member already, though. Something tells me you ARE going to miss having the numpad around...Chyros wrote: ↑22 Apr 2019, 14:14Thanks to a recent, generous donation I've joined the SSK club! It's a very nice one; ISO- and bolt-modded. It was originally a '1472, now in ISO UK layout. I'm not normally one for the space-saving team, but I now understand what people like about these; it does have a certain je ne sais quoi. Naturally, there will be a review in the future!

(during these weeks, I am testing having an SSK with an M50 to its left, with the numpad and extra keys in there - results have been... underwhelming so far; I intend to post about this the next weekend)

It's not a keyboard I would've bought myself - but it's a great collector's piece, obviouslydepletedvespene wrote: ↑22 Apr 2019, 14:18Welcome! Please help. What is a reasonable price to pay for a new open box SSK 1392934 ?
