That for sure is within my price range.. nice vintage look too. I wonder if that is 8917 is 1989 17th week. I may go for one even though I have no idea how to get it working on the standard internals. Its cheap enough.. the seller has five available.

There are a couple more "space saver" ibm keyboards up on ebay. Rubber dome for over 100 usd!! Sold prices corroborate these space saver auction asking prices too.. Unicomp needs to get on this. Their retail wouldn't need to be inline with their wider boards imo. How much more the they could charge before the market loses its taste for them I do not know. I'm guessing quite a bit more than $110 usd.
It even comes with 3 buttons

I found an even sillier trackball type device, it's a control panel for some kind of part inspection scanner type think. The side panels and wheel (which look like plastic) are actually metal, and the ball needs lube but the knobs and wheel are crazy smooth.

Ti83 for scale?

You're right. The arrow symbols on Mitsumi switches are centered.

if any of you guys see ebay user KevinOtto either buying from you or selling to you, avoid the little prick like the plague.
The guy bought some badges from me which were sent out instantly, he didn't bother to tell me that the item never arrived because he's a stupid fuck, and decided to open an ebay case where my only option was to refund, as opposed to send out a replacement for him.
Then he decided to leave me negative feedback.
Love it.

Sorry to hear about that. Don't forget to add him to your blocked bidders list if you haven't already. Sometimes I've been able to pre-empt these kind of buyers and block them before they can bid (e.g. if their pre-purchase communication gives you the impression that they are going to be a problem). Unfortunately, there is little you can do in most cases though. :-(

$107 US, ATM. Anybody want to guess how high it'll go?

EDIT #2: It looks like there are about more than a dozen blue and green Alps keyboards on US ebay. Everyone cashing in on prices while they're still high?

EDIT #3: sold for $156.50.

I'd rather not. 107 is already a dumb price for a pingmaster. :x

How much was Mendelsons selling the Pingmaster for? Wasn't it like $30 with $40 shipping?

30 or 35 USD, depending on the batch, with not that high of a shipping (depending on one's location; in one purchase I even got free shipping).

The thing is, the "NOS supply" ran out a couple times, before Mendehlson put out new batches. Also, for a long time, the Japanese keyboards weren't available, with only Chinese units for sale, until a "fresh" batch showed up (this happened twice). It is now that we see pingmasters at inflated prices.

I myself bought a couple extra units to use them for trades later on, but the current pricing makes me conflicted (it "strenghtens" my hand, but not in a way I would have wanted)

I would be delighted in a rather particular version of schadenfreude if Mendehlson found now a new batch of pingmasters and put them for sale, again, at his usual prices.

FWIW, I wouldn't mind buying a Pingmaster that needs some work at a $80ish + shipping, depending on condition. I finally determined that I don't like linear switches for myself, but I do get a kick out of opening a keyboard with internals I haven't worked on before.

Oh, It looks like Mendleson's only has a couple rubber dome keyboards, ATM. Unless I'm missing a search term.

Never seen one like this before.
So the keyboard portion moves with the mouse? Wouldn't that make it a pretty clumsy mouse?
