I'm bidding on the REUDO Rboard, hopefully it's an ADB so that my Mac Classic finally has its own dedicated keyboard instead of bringing my M0116 back and forth from work haha

And I swear to god, whenever I'm about to pack everything to ship here, I always find something interesting to buy. As always, thanks subcat :D

I hope you get it, there seems to be little documentation on them - I know there is also the ASKeyboard version with doubleshots I think? and sometimes SKCL Greens. There's also a version with top printed English legends. Best of luck anyway!

I'm not 100% sure whether that 8800 is SKCM Blue, I know the type A is for sure, and the type D is SKCM Cream - would be good to fill the gaps in the knowledge for types B and C. If anyone knows, please chime in!

I'm also not 100% sure on the X1 Turbo Z, I've seen an image of one missing a cap which was SKCL Green, but the logo was a different colour. I've also seen quite a few examples that have yellowed beyond what I'd expect from Alps-made doubleshots, which are generally pretty resistant. It's probably fine, but bid with caution :?:

As much as I want to buy more, I'm already at my weight limit of 40Kg :'(
Though I kinda wanna bid on the 8800 Type C if it doesn't reach over 10k JPY, since the Alps Blue (hopefully they are) I have are really dirty and I have no time to clean em.

I gotta wait another 2 months till I can buy more, but hopefully the things that I got are good haha

40gk holy moly. Is that all just in keyboards?

BTW the 8800 type C is blue alps. As far as I know, every type except type D is blue alps.

Just 20Kg of keyboards, the other 20Kg are from the from the body of the Z1 turbo and the PC8801. Total of 7 Keyboards, but it'll probably add 10Kg if I win the auction tonight and wednesday for the other 7 keyboards.
Or maybe I'll put them in another shipment since the jump in price from 40kg to 50kg is huge.

Shipping is probably going to reach 18k JPY, rip

18k actually isn't that bad for all that. For one board it usually costs me anywhere from 4-6k. One time I shipped two boards together and it was almost 10k!

Dayum. 5k a board. I'm shipping to the Philippines though with UPS, so that's around 18k. Checking at prices to the Americas though, it's upwards to 38k. It's good if I'm buying from Asia and Japan, but whenever I buy things from Amazon I have to pay for $10 shipping for a single book and $25+ shipping for something larger than 2 books :/

This is a really useful thread. Thanks, subcat! You seem to follow a lot of the same stuff that shows up in my saved yahoo searches :P

I'm definitely interested in one of those 5576, probably any of the ones without missing alphas. Also I hope someone here picks up one of the Sord boards! I was really interested in the M343 because man I love spherical keycaps and I really want to know what switches that thing is using, but I would probably never be able to actually use the board and I don't have a lot of space here in Tokyo to store a keyboard collection. Good luck!

Yep, they're both out of my budget now. 20000 JPY is really out of my budget. I really just hope that I get the SORD keyboard instead orz

Good question.

Also, I managed to get the SORD keyboard, hopefully the price tag of 13,500 JPY is worth it haha.

Congrats, hope it turns out to be something great (and let us know what's in there!). I fought pretty hard for a Canon with sculpted spherical keycaps + (probably) Alps SKCM White a couple weeks back, lost it at 21.9k. Still a bit bummed about that, really think I shouldn't have let it go for that much.

I'm still really bummed out on the other 2 keyboards yesterday, I legit was about to continue bidding even after 31.2k, but thank god I didn't XD

I'm planning on buying from yahoo auctions every 2 months and document every keyboard I get, just for the fun of it (but I think that documenting the japanese keyboards and posting the links to the auctions might inflate the price)

(I also kinda wanna just call yahoo auctions as yoku since typing the whole thing is tiring)

A HiPro Realforce is always a good choice after Topre discontinued them, best of luck :)
I don't think Filco guy is gonna get any bites at that price either, that can't even be far off retail. It's still cool to see English keyboards pop up in Asia so I threw it in there for fun.
I know Sord operated primarily in Japan so there is very little western info available about their keyboards, hopefully we can shed some light soon.
Sorry to hear about the JEC - It won't be this thread that's causing such prices, recently I've noticed cool and rare/unknown stuff getting higher in general as a trend - a Juki keyboard I really wanted ended at over 50,000 JPY, and another undocumented HiPro keyboard too. Part of the reason I made it was because I thought it wouldn't make much of a difference. I hope we see it soon anyway!

About a month ago I was able to pick up 2x8801 keyboards - 1 older one with damage to PCB but other Type A in perfect condition (except the cable, that thing is junk) - for 6k/9k respectively. I'm not sure what happened since then, all of the 8801 keyboards have been ending around 15k.

Also regarding the Jukis, I wasn't looking to pick one up off yahoo auctions, but I was curious so I sent an inquiry to Juki themselves about buying one of the newer Celavi as an individual and they gave me a call an hour later asking me what my intentions were, since the keyboard is not usable on its own. I explained that I was interested as a hobbyist and collector, to which they apologized and informed me that they couldn't sell to me under those circumstances. I wanted to press a bit about what would happen if I did actually plan to use one for data entry, but I suspected there is probably some kind of service agreement and paid contract in addition to the keyboard itself being very expensive. If I get curious enough again I might make another call.

I see - I’ve had a kind member here contact Juki for me regarding the Celavi software + keyboard too and if I remember correctly they wanted 300,000+ JPY for the whole thing.

Apparently at least one variant of this SORD keyboard uses clear Hirose, but pictures of that one have centered LED windows, so I'm not certain what this one is. Recently a few of these showed up out of nowhere, and all of them had windows in the top left.
