If it stays low I might throw some bids at it. Looks neat for sure

i get kind of a topre vibe from it, but i'm not sure. someone please grab it!!

Did topre boards come with those kinds of stepped caps? I was getting an alps vibe from. The homing keys look scooped as well. Maybe i'm just seeing what I want to see  Either way, I think I will go for this interesting one!

you're probably right, i can't recall any non-hipro topre keyboard with steps.

I'll throw a couple of other keyboards from yesterday that i missed for categorisation reasons here too, i'm not sure of the details of either:

- NEC N5155-27 - https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f253865910
- Starting Price - 10,000 JPY

- NEC N5155-27A - https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r248050919

Wake me up when there's a vintage Japanese ergo board for the NEC PC98 or PC88

Nice. But if you change your mind on bidding it do tell me since I'm also interested in bidding on it :D
But hopefully someone from here gets it since I'm interested on more info on it.

And yeah, the homing keys does look scooped, or that the image angle coincidentally makes the F and J look more deep, but what are the odds of that happening hahaha

The second was pure luck that I even came across it. I don't have it just yet but I know the case is metal and is 2.2 Kg or < 5 pounds so quite heavy for it's diminutive size.
Please do document the innards of the board, I'm interested to see if there is something different with this board since it's built for a radio transceiver

I imagine it's very similar to the one I documented: viewtopic.php?t=20312

I will certainly document the anritsu board (assuming I win)! I am definitely going for it! Haven't taken a risk on keyboards in a while and I'm feeling the itch/excitement of the unknown! hahaha

That one is really beautiful, I especially love the case. I saw the keyboard module being auctioned off maybe a month ago (for under 10k yen) but alas, no case, no buy.

taking a closer look, those stepped caps look similar in terms of profile and shape to alps-made ones, so skcl/m could be a possibility

The NMB is dramatically overpriced. They're fairly nice boards, but that one's nothing special (this one is) and doesn't call out three figures to me.

Kind of annoying to see keyboard inflation at work in Japan, too…

i know, but the goal is to post everything - keep in mind this kind of stuff was never really sold in japan and thus would have been imported at a high cost, and it actually isn’t that crazy, look at ssk prices in japan and you’ll see a perfect example. the model m is also ‘overpriced’ by western standards and it already has a bid.

taking into account at least $50-60 shipping, +$15-$20 import duties and taxes, and you can have a max premium of almost $100 just to bring a board in

I'm not actually sure if this Justy PC-98 clone uses Alps, but I've seen an Elecom? branded one with SKBM Black or something similar - this one appears to be OEM'd by Filco (or at least their OEM for their early/mid-2000s Alps stuff,) as is revealed by the sticker on the back's similarities in appearance.

no worries, the cover does look nice though.

In other topics, I am enjoying the 8801 converter that I got here from a maker - it works for the Type A (that strange 5 pin PS/2 like connector). Works like a charm

I'm quite surprised to see that the 108P-S has been relisted, as it was priced extremely well to begin with (it's been reduced by 300 this time around).
Shame about the lack of rear-shots in the Alps department today, we can't tell what switches either Alps board has for sure :0

8801 converter
this is the guy... http://ixsvr.dyndns.org/profile

that page has his email address.
you would have to email to inquire anyway since that site is not a shop. He goes by Hasegawa, a very nice and helpful fellow. There is a configurator that he made for this converter.

converter page: http://ixsvr.dyndns.org/usb2pc88

I will test out the configurator later today

So I just got home and the packaged arrived.
Spoiler:

The SORD keyboard has a cherry switch in it, but it clearly isn't MX mount. I can't find any info on the switch after a quick google search, and I can't find any info on it. It's pretty linear and very pingy. The mount looks like the usual SKCC T mount, but the base of the switch is very curvy. Maybe someone can ID this switch haha.
