MX Dark Blues, shipping is prohibitively expensive to the US, but maybe some of our brothers up north can snag this.

They could still be regular MX Blues. I put in an offer anyway, because I'm curious - I'll let you know what the outcome of that is.

Is there any better way to browse eBay (or other good sites to browse) for old keyboards beyond alternating between searching for manufacturers, "vintage keyboard", "alps switch", or specific models?

Search for "keyboard" als check the whole list. There is no shortcut.

You can also look into all computers for sale and check whether the offer comprises a keyboard.
That's how I once got a G81-3000 SAU in mint condition (which I no longer have, please no PMs)

I usually just search for "keyboard" in the Vintage Computing category and check the box to search descriptions. You can also slim down the results with "-Dell -Apple -Gateway" etc but you'll still probably have 1,000+ auctions to look through. This is of course assuming the seller even knows enough about it to list it in the correct category, and some of the best stuff is being sold by people that have no idea what it is. Just try searching for "old keyboard" and things like that (just uncheck the Musical Instruments category of course).

Not sure if he is selling one or 2 keyboards, but here is one of those Chicony KB-5582 with mx blues and trackball from Germany.

He is selling the keyboard with trackball. The first two pictures in the listing is of another keyboard. He messed up the pictures because they were initially listed at the same time.

Well it seems as though those 2 Oki gourd spring boards shall be mine, he was a reasonable man who accepted a reasonable offer. I've been looking for one of these for some time, as I've developed a strange addiction to buckling spring and spring over membrane switches - now I'll have two! Oki, Model M BS, Model F BS, Alps BS in my collection thus far....I'll have to find an affordable Alps plate spring board next...and some Brother BS.

Okis feel surprisingly good, frankly. I haven't felt the need to snag one for my collection, as I already have too many tactile spring keyboards in the form of Model Ms.

I'm interested what you end up with. I took a gamble once, and ended up with regular MX blues. They were very nice though, so I wasn't disappointed.

Yeah, I was gonna post an update when it had like 30 minutes left - crazy how much it's going to go for. But I guess it is a once in a lifetime kind of opportunity.

Unfortunately someone bought out the auction before the seller reviewed my offer. It seems petty now - I could have done the same - but with the shipping it would have been just over $100 at that price - and I really don't need 3 busted laptops with no power supplies with a slim chance of maybe one having dark blues. I am curious though...wonder if someone in our community snagged them!

Yeah that's what I keep hearing - and the simplicity of them just fascinates me. Tactile spring switches are the bees knees.

Hi, I just stumbled upon an interesting vintage mouse. The post is in Croatian, but it doesn't give any details anyway.
If anyone is interested, I can act as a proxy. The asking price is 50 HRK (6.75 EUR) + a small postage amount (2 EUR ?) + whatever postage is needed to get it to your place.

Not only rubber domes but those HP keyboards speak their own proprietary HP protocol. I have one here, the keycaps are nice but that's it.
