Just a guess. I feel an alpsy vibe looking at the keys / font. You are right though, they could be anything. I picked one of these up yesterday so we will find out. This seller has sold at least 3 of these to my knowledge so maybe more will pop up.

LOL, so Skidatas are at $140 now from the original seller. I think when he began to sell them he asked about half of that.

No need to  , just a reminder (concerning the "programmable" part, the rest being a standard keyboard):

kbdfr wrote:Had a look at the programming software [as per the link provided by the seller], reason enough for me not to buy the keyboard. It is not a dedicated software for this keyboard, but a rather complicated general tool for re-assigning keys and apparently running macros or launching applications. The original language is Russian, the English version is sometimes quite weird. No "help" function, so I was unable to find out how to program and save a macro on a given key.

So what's the use of a programmable keyboard if you cannot program it? […]

kbdfr wrote:[…] I asked SkiData which software was used for programming the keyboards and the answer came today: they were pre-programmed for their parking management application (under Windows 95) and no support is provided anymore. Apart from that, no further information [will be] provided to non-customers.
Edit:
Since then the seller has removed the link to the software from his eBay listing, but I managed to find it again
There is now a more recent version released 23.11.2015 and running under Windows 10 (but again, it is a general software not specific to that keyboard):

If anyone gives it a try, thanks for reporting.

Thanks for sharing the old post, seems like there will never be a possibility to use the upper part :(
I think that he still shares the software, when I wrote him he send me a download link to such a software. As already said earlier this software can't work as the upper and lower part of the board share the same scan codes

Shill-bidding alert

Anyone considering bidding on this Cherry G80-2100 HCD:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/172796488446

you should consider that the seller is obviously shill-bidding in quite the meanest way there can be:
1. entering a very high bid, which allows seeing the (normally hidden) maximum bid of the highest bidder,
2. retracting the bid,
3. and bidding again just one increment less than the highest bidder in order to push their bid up.

This seller often does so, even using two different shill-bidding accounts,
one coded h***a (44) as in the keyboard listing mentioned:
http://www.ebay.com/bfl/viewbids/172796 ... 7675.l2565
but also in those listings:
http://www.ebay.de/bfl/viewbids/1727563 ... 7675.l2565
http://www.ebay.de/bfl/viewbids/1727567 ... 7675.l2565

the other coded 6***2 (22):
http://www.ebay.de/bfl/viewbids/1726894 ... 7675.l2565

and sometimes even trying it with both:
http://www.ebay.de/bfl/viewbids/1726840 ... 7675.l2565

I dont have my Skidata board any more (except for the keycaps), so I can´t test, but it is a PS/2 board anyway, so you would need a converter to USB, and with a Soarer converter, you should have all the programming options you need.

Always interesting to see your research kbdfr, I really wish that ebay fixes this issues as they are a thing for ages now....

Regarding the skidata: it has two ps2 cables and I've used them with a ps2/USB converter. On my PC the upper and lower keys had the identical scan code so there shouldn't be a way for an external device to difference between these keys. If somebody finds a solution I'd be very happy but for the moment I don't see that without huge modifications

Since I lack both the skills and the material to make one of these usable for me (i.e. convert them to USB), I might as well link them here:
(Currently 4) Apple AEK II, ISO-DE, no cable for 18€ each, which appear to be in a pretty good (optical) condition (except for yellowing), judging by the one sample that's pictured.

Ahhh Wobbled, welcome to Ebay where being 'fleeced' is now becoming the normal experience.

That is why I have to refer to them as "Flebay", the only CORRECT description to apply.
