Not just the magic switches.

Does anyone have the story why Cherry never made all MX as nice as these? What stopped them?
It's hard for me to feel a difference between all those modern linear MX Clones and almost all of those are imo much better than vintage MX black. So what's the deal with those Nixies? Are they even that good?
That really depends what you think of linears... Nixies are the smoothest variant of MX Black you can get your hands on. Personally I hate linears, so thankfully I don't have to compete with the reddit brigade armed with their parents AMEX cards

I don’t prefer linears, myself. But Nixies are as smooth as they come. Absolutely marvellous wee bastards. Which is why I asked: if Cherry could make MX as smooth as this, why did they stop? MX black is scratchy garbage by comparison. Even vintage blacks, let alone the modern stuff! Shuff shuff shuff shuff

I like some linears, but MX Black are not my cup of tea. Except for the ones in really good condition, they feel scratchy and a bit too heavy for my taste. I put a bunch of linear Mx clones (Alpacas, not very expensive) in my Unitek K 151L. Those are smooth as a stone, lightly weighted and I like them very much. While I don't have too many other linear mx clones at hand to compare em with, they all feel more or less the same to me in terms of keyfeel. Of course, all of them probably get blown out of the water by modern contactless switches too. So how are Nixies compared to your bog standard modern MX Clone? How can you justify that pricetag?

Costar CSK-2101, should have Alps
It's a really nice looking board, but I'm not sure I need another white alps kb. :/ And the starting bid is kinda around the point I'd be willing to pay. And the caps, while Czech and nice looking, are probably printed.
ISO tho, that's neat.

Someone snatch this before I go make it my backup HHKB. I've pretty, white HHKB caps to put on it already…

I’ve read that the Bluetooth connection on the BT only HHKBs (as opposed to the hybrid) can be a bit ropey. Not sure how true or widespread that is, but it’s put me off buying this model before. Given the mix of blank and lettered keycaps and the scuffing on the case, I’d say it’s a fair price rather than a steal.

Ah, while I'd noticed the scuffing, I had not bothered to look at the black on black legends. That's a little lousy for anyone wanting to use this little HHKB as-is.

And yes, any connection flakiness would drive me apoplectic. (Hasu's is rock solid, proved by years of heavy use right here.) So yeah, not a great match for me at least.

I've only just noticed the random keycaps on that HHKB
I'd probably pick it up myself and get some kbdfans EC caps to go on there, but I recently picked up a pro 2 for £118
The connection issues must be specific to the BT model and not the Hybrid, as that has been rock solid stable for me.
Mu are those white keycaps you have spare blank or printed?

The good ones, of course. Always had a black HHKB in mind for them.

The set on my HHKB is getting shined through years of use. (PBT shine takes more dedication!) The vowels all show a good shine new. The fact it's all through my own hard use quite pleases me.

I'm always a bit suspicious of listings without good photos. How hard is it to include photos which show the keycaps clearly?

For sure, but really there's not a whole lot that can go wrong with topre boards. In this case it just needs some different keycaps (blanks are under $30 from kbdfans)
The only thing I'd check straight away is whether the domes are original to the board, I can't imagine anything worse than typing on those 30g domes.

While this is probably membrane junk, you have to love a keyboard with a Pizza button. And it's 1.25U.

Intecolor keyboard. Maxi Switch vintage linear. Missing a couple keys, but it's $100.

I think the Hang Up key would come in handy.

The analogue W.P.M. meter on that ASCII keyboard is to die for.

CoolerMaster Novatouch. Currently at $300.

For the non-Topre crowd, the reason folks want this keyboard is because it came with sliders that are MX mount. I know a couple folks here are looking for one.

Love the WPM gauge!

Manual for the thing here: https://bama.edebris.com/download/curti ... manual.pdf Doesn't say the exact switches but they have doubleshot caps and "gold inlaid key contacts individually replaceable". Schematic shows they're resistive and it's a 2KRO matrix.

I'd guess HiTek/Stackpole but I'm thrown off by the individual replaceability. An older version had ones by Micro Switch apparently: viewtopic.php?t=25107

Did anyone else see this on eBay? A TKL Model F made with capacitive F switches and a Model M SSK case. I was tempted to the point of “watching” it but didn’t make an offer; it went today.
