Don't you know? You ship keyboards like a gift from a faraway aunt to a kid who passed an exam. Der Zoll, dude...

It took me a couple of years to spot one for sale. Haven't been following eBay for a long time now, so I don't know about the past years and if availability has changed, but I doubt it.

Of course now I have two. :evilgeek:

I'd still very much like to get one... I just wonder if it would be better to play part number shady-roulette like you as taobao is also shady...

GE branded.
I have this one, or a similar one. Buy it if you like the caps, it's a Unicomp. Beware that it was used in a hospital...

Don't know if it's a great find or not and if I should post in this thread or somewhere else but...

Here are 32 keys which have a transparent part allowing to see the "integrated" LED or whatever they're called.

It's pricey at 99 Euros but you can make an offer.

No idea about the switch, it's a bit of a weird looking thinggy apparently from SGI !? :

Name one thing that I have bought that was used. (The last time I can remember was a few years ago, and that GPU exploded...)

I buy NIB as that is what I prefer. It is not retarded, it is a preference.

This isn't a great find, but I think it's an interesting find. A rubber dome Model M:

nah its retarded, drives up the price and reduces your market considerably.

For commodities, yes. But something with finger-dirt all over the outside (and who knows what within) is a different matter. Even if it works perfectly as described. So much hassle when your luck runs out with used peripherals.

If you can afford it, preference wins.

And for the stuff that's not available NIB … back to picking out someone else's fourteen year old chai latte residue.

No wonder I'm thinking of just building my own keyboard instead. Newer than new in box. And all kinds of bother in different, creative ways! Aie…

Would be very appreciated if someone from CONUS could proxy some of those for me.
US: Ground $15.01 (cheapest option)
Russia: Priority Mail International $119.55 (the only option)

Maybe it makes sense to do a group buy? They seem to have ~10k in stock. I would buy 250.

Yeah, but then where do you get Honeywell keycaps?

Good point.

Holy shit! I just got a shipping estimate on 120 switches and it's $54.50 to Canada! And that's standard USPS, which takes 14-21 days. Unbelievable. The switches themselves are only $10.80.

Maybe it's possible to build converters for MX keycaps via 3D printing? But then looking to the pics I have the impression Honeywell keycaps are much taller than standard Cherry keycaps

That's a problem. People buy ALPS/Matias and have the same problem. Pretty sure if we make a group buy we can order caps for it. I would go for spherical.

I just ordered 250 of the Honeywell switches, I am in the US and they are charging me $20 for ground shipping. I guess that's where they really make their money. Oh well, I can't resist the switches, though. Must have switches!

17 cents a switch isn't bad either. Perhaps you'll be first to figure out which Honeywell switch they are meant to be.

Space Cadet Keyboard switches have strong nerd appeal on name alone. Sounds the perfect match for your numboard project.

According to this GH thread, the manufacturer is Micro and the part number is 1B3S. According to the wiki page, this would indicate that it was:
  • 1 - White stem
    B - Angled stem
    3 - Normal (78cn)
    S - 4 pins, 2 [redundant] sense lines (Unknown difference from A)
This seems to be in line with the picture, which shows a 4 pin switch with an angled white stem.
