Pity there's never a detailed back story to these keyboards.

Would love to know which factory they were used in and when. Imagine buying a keyboard that was once used inside Ferrari, Boeing or NASA.

The Sellers could make extra on hardware without even realizing it ;) .
Hi guys! What I hope is good news, I did just buy the 2 Nixdorf keyboards that were reported on in the above quote on this thread, AND their companion terminal/CRT assemblies from this seller.

So, because I'm hell-bent on learning all there is to know about the system that they came from, I DO indeed intend to find out all there is to know about the true backstory of these systems. How did they end up in a farmhouse in the NW suburban St. Louis, Missouri area? If the answer can be found, I will certainly find it. And I'll let you guys know!

Here's my post with more of the story so far... viewtopic.php?f=2&t=23215

Best to all,
AJ

WTF

Lifetime mouse by Key Tronic… for 35k CZK (~1375 EUR) and the seller is serious about it.

The mouse (FCC ID probably CIG3HW73P) is actually interesting: it has a pair of feet as motion sensors, instead of an ordinary ball. (Hawley Wheel Mouses)
Jack Hawley designed a mouse whose two sealed motion-detector feet, like fat slanted wheels, eliminated the problem of dirt getting into the mouse. Hawley designed his rolling feet mechanism, in lieu of a mouse ball, to accommodate a round mouse design similar to one that was patented by designers at Digital Equipment Corporation. Hawley applied for patent for his mechanism in Patent 4,628,755.

Hawley designed an opto-mechanical two button mouse for the PC with sealed motion-detector feet instead of a tracking ball, on a similar principle as the DEC mouse. Four glide-pads let it slide on any smooth surface without a mouse pad. The mouse is about 4" x 2 1/2" with a rather high arc at the palm. A spherical indentation identifies the larger left button by touch.

When Key Tronic acquired Honeywell it acquired the mouse with two wheeled "feet" that was built on Hawley's design. Key Tronic continued to market it under its Honeywell brand. In 1994 Key Tronic revived a similar mouse under the name The Lifetime Mouse that allowed switching between two and three buttons, announced at $49. It was also marketed as Key Tronic School Mouse.

Definitely for the hard-core Apple fan BUT for myself, would rather buy another block of land instead of wasting it on that junk ;) .

Wouldn't be surprised at all because I suspect if you reside on an isolated Pacific Island, then postal delivery cost should exceed $1000+ easily.

Damn, hate to be living in Moscow, Budapest or Ulan Bator. The postal costs would always exceed what you are buying and trying to get delivered :( .

I'll give him $20.00USD for the Box only.

Have a few 2001's without their original boxes, they need some coverage and protection :) .

I've already decided to quit this hobby and tried my best to ignore yahuoku, but an ISO/Japanese bigfoot, with the old Toshiba branding on the plate at that. And an Olivetti branded board with an ANK-2X branding that is not a rubber dome, considering that the ANK-25 and ANK-27 were rubber domes, yet this Bigfoot olivetti branded one has an ANK-26. And another bigfoot with Sony Quarter L branding, with a cool AX keycap on the escape key: http://kaorun.hatenablog.com/entry/20130916/1379315625

There seems to be another one with the Kyocera branding. The Blue/cyan doubleshot cap really intrigues me for some reason. I'll just accept defeat or else I won't be able to control myself any further.

If the keyboard had the old Toshiba logo like an IBM badge instead of the newer logo however.....
