Red and Blue lettering keycaps for BS keyboards, surely interesting.

I guess it's the printed color options that is new at Unicomp? As for the novelty keys I wouldn't dream of adorning my BS keyboards with GH emblems.

Is this legit?

I mean, Cheery MX Green for 64$, and anyone know the reliability of this Chinese website?

It's MX blue. Look at the sidebar:
Cherry MX Black
Cherry MX Brown
Cherry MX Green
Cherry MX Red
Chinese, and Japanese and many East Asian languages, have a different dividing line between green and blue than we do. Beware!

Interestingly, that site says Brown instead of "Tea Axis". That's usually a giveaway that you're not reading English.

Nice! A Filco NIB for EUR 1,99? I wonder for how much that will go.

Nice doubleshots.

I suggest to paint the case in black ...

Please get them and write wiki article about them, so I don't have to do it.

shouldn't that be a cherry keyboard? (i thought keybo.de is a cherry distributor) so this could actually be not as crappy as it looks :o

No, it's not crappy at all! It has very nice Cherry doubleshots, and these are quite rare in German layout. I think the seller could have gotten way more for it if she hadn't hidden it in the formula 1 memorabilia category and if she had used the word "Cherry"... But how could she have known ... :geek:

Congrats, Daniel!

Sorry I have been tardy in posting an update on the hall effect switches, I received them and they are the same as what is pictured on the website. I will post some pictures when I get home (I am at work now). They text on them says "Micro" and "USA". I got 250 of them. They are linear, with no click or tactile bump, and the motion is perfectly smooth. I may attempt to disassemble one of them, but I haven't taken the time to figure that out yet. Not much free time with a 9 month old daughter!

EDIT: Here are the pictures:

I couldn't get a good picture with my iPhone of the model number (1B3S) which is embossed on the edge opposite "Micro USA". I could probably get a better picture of it but that would involve having film developed and then scanning it. I need a better digital camera. :(

I think I may have murdered this switch, but here one is, disassembled:

It's pretty simple, and I bet it would't be that hard to clone it. I don't think it could be done for under 10 cents per switch, though.

Anybody seen any cheap boards with MX browns on eBay.de/EU eBay?

There aren't a lot of vintage models with MX brown ...

Here's a modern one:

But I don't think it will stay cheap.

Oh, I don't mind them being not vintage, actually prefer it.
I'd be perfectly happy with a Cherry or Compaq board, used even, I just want to try out the switch, before I buy a more expensive board with browns.

What I meant to say was: it's hard to find a cheap one because there aren't that many vintage models that had MX Brown, and the newer models are still more expensive, even used. IIRC I paid > 30€ for my used Compaq.

Good luck anyway!

Ah, I see! Alright.
Yep, that's the price range I'm aiming for.

jpatters, have you had a chance to play with those enough to know if they're just switches (ie simple on/off) or if they actually measure how far "pushed down" they are?

I have to apologize because I have been a little busy lately, my ten month old daughter just started walking!

Anyway, if they do measure how far they are pushed down, that would open up quite a lot of possibilities, wouldn't it? They would be great for some musical keyboard project, if that is the case. I will have to experiment. Problem is, I don't even know quite where to start with them, I guess I should get a bread board and just start tinkering with them.
