Hi guys,

For some time I have been working on a diy keyboard (https://www.geekabit.nl/projects/keyboard/). The current prototype is workable and I'm currently thinking about the next prototype. One of the cool things I'd like to add is RGB backlight. So I bought some Cherry MX RGB switches on AliExpress (couldn't find an open groupbuy). Searching the web for other diy projects using these switches I found none. Also the info about the RGB leds one could use in combination with these switches seems to be non-existent.

The switches came in the mail the other day (see pic) and I measured the led 'hole' to be approximately 2.6 * 2.2mm. The biggest RGB leds that I could fit in that are 0805. Can anyone confirm any of this?

I ordered some 0805 RGB leds on Ebay and will probably make a small prototype board with a couple of switches and backlight when I find the time. Will keep you guys posted

Cheers,
geekabit
