Whitefox 3d

More details later and I'll also post a full hand-wiring tutorial but anyway...

This is a whitefox you can print @ home https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2952008

The source is on onshape and freely accessible here in case you want to change the layout or anything.

Each piece is less than 20cm, so it can be easily printed on any consumer grade printer. I shot a short video with some details if you are interested.

Print time of the whole thing at a decent resolution is about 12 hours. If you are interested in hand wiring but a little intimidated I'm writing a series of tutorials about it.

Nice! Did you make any changes from your other whitefox/nightfox except for the top screwholes?

the case is slightly different to make it easier to 3d print and more sturdy (because of plastic instead of aluminum)

Does it work with any of the whitefox pcbs that are out there (I:Cs or MDs)?

Also, what infill and thickness do you recommend?

the case is for hand wired keyboards only.

I printed with 6 top/bottom layers and 5 side-walls. That gives a lot of stability, but you can go away with 4 top/bottom layers and 4 side/walls, I wouldn't go lower than that. Infill 25%.

This keyboard would be a lot sturdier if you add several posts in the middle which touch the bottom to prevent the top from bending.

the plate is 4mm, it doesn't bend

it probably bends less than aluminum honestly
