I think F122 boards always have stepped 1,5u bottom row modifiers, else they are indistinguishable. These old cases with the IBM logo are really pretty :)

I think that those screws are going to be too long to allow the case to close. I think that the general consensus is that m2x8 are about the longest that will still allow the assembly to sit low enough.

They have to be cut, as all I could find was 6/32 imperial bolts :/ Murica is great.

Holy moly that's big!

McMaster-Carr here in Atlanta delivers in a few days but is expensive, ebay from China is insanely cheap but takes 2-3 weeks.

I love M122s! Looks like you're making good progress!

How fixed the cracks? Sodering iron? How would it work in plastic like that?

Keeb is back together now, waiting for the teensy 2.0++ to come and will get rid of this crappy wire it came with.

Soldering iron + staples work wonders in plastics!

Teensy 2.0++? Does it mean that original controller is dead and you are going to build a replacement?

Posted: 04 Dec 2018, 22:10
by tatsurou
It is so I can remap the keys. Rewiring rj45 to ps2 kinda worked but the keyboard just keeps pressing the keys all the time. I assume is talking to the computer in mode 3 instead of mode 2

You can run Soarer’s converter on your Teensy. These boards work well with those, I have one myself.

But sure, you can go straight to the source with a whole controller replacement if you like.

Isn't Soarer's firmware written for Teensy 2.0 and not 2.0++ ?

Posted: 05 Dec 2018, 00:14
by tatsurou
I think it's ++ onwards, I might be wrong. Pretty sure it works on ++

She works beautifully! I wired it to my F XT Soarer's converter real quick to see if it works and it does! Every key sends a scan code and it's quite different after bolt modding. Keys feel more deep and thocky than regular blue badge model M. I will make a quick video for you guys to check out later on as it's very nice and fine experience to type on. I''m glad it works again!

Nice job! I do love these boards - I hear people complain about the size, but come on, it's just a really cool layout.

It's looking great. I love the trick you used to fix the hairline crack in the case.
