DIY "isolation mount" / "gasket mount" for mere mortals

I wrote up some of my research on making the gasket-mount/isolation-mount trend more accessible to people who aren't able to participate in high-end keyboard group buys. My original post is at https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyb ... _trend_no/, and cross-posted at https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=99090.0

Long story short, adding neoprene sheets or o-rings between the plate/PCB and the case can be a pleasant improvement to your typing experience.

Has anyone else experimented with this? Any more ideas along these lines?

thanks for your post, but in my opinion you are doing it wrong. Publish the actual article on a forum or even the wiki and then link it on reddit. That way it has a higher chance to be useful in the long run. Also why linking geekhack which is basically a link to reddit?

I'm sorry if I suggested that nobody has tried this before... I never saw that thread, thank you for sharing.

Edit: these look like 3d printed adapters to allows universal plates to fit specific cases... am I missing something?

Looks like a good idea to me. Perhaps materials designed specifically for acoustic isolation would work well (e.g., "Sorbothane").
