Keytronic Foam and Foil Spacebar Stabilizer

Hello,

recently got a very old Keytronic foam and foil keyboard. Unfortunately, the spacebar stab guides on the keycap are broken off and I have no idea how they originally looked or functioned. Can someone help me out with this?

This wiki page has some glimpses of a Key Tronic spacebar insert, although it's not for the same type of switch. It looks like a similar principle to Costar stabilisers. The wire in your picture looks like it could work with something similar.

Have you checked in the casing to see if the broken pieces are floating around? If you can find them I'd be glad to make a CAD model and print a few.

Unfortunately, the parts are gone. I guess it's not that hard to make out how this thing worked, but I would have liked to have the original dimensions and so on. Probably just a plastic plate with a slit for the metal slider. Like that one type of ALPS stab, I think that is the one HC514 meant. Maybe Chyros can help me out, he has some old Keytronic F&F boards.

Also, that stab is very unusual. Looks like a one-piece plastic part, maybe an attempt at saving costs. Interesting.
