Use this topic to suggest nominees for the Deskthority Award 2013.

This is the main award and the "super category", anything goes. You can suggest a keyboard, company, keycap set, person, etc. It can be something or someone already nominated in another category as well. What was extra special in 2013? You have to give a short motivation for each suggestion. You cannot nominate yourself.

Current suggestions (this list is frequently updated):
  • dirge for his proxy service
  • Deskthority club DT cannot win its own award
  • Komar for releasing his 60% keyboard as open-hardware
  • IvanIvanovich formerly known as Lysol for his efforts and endurance in the GMK groupbuys
  • 7bit for organizing Round 4 + 5
  • elton5354 for his Tai Hao Groupbuys
  • tinnie formerly known as Tinlong for the SSKs
  • Daniel Beardsmore for his continuous work on the wiki
  • Signature Plastics for not having that high MOQ
  • 002 for the Realforce tours
  • Douglas Engelbart, pioneer and inventor of the mouse (RIP)
  • matt3o for his groupbuys and keyboard builds
  • ijprest for his keyboard layout editor

Not sure if a person can be nominated.

My choice is dirge for proxying for me (UK->Germany) more than once,
working his butt off to get the stuff first, then forward it to me,
and then forgetting he had paid for it

I also enjoyed his performance art. Pining after the impossible f-row.

Thanks, but as the DTA organizer I'm out of contest. ;)

I'd nominate Komar, for making his 60% keyboard as open-hardware. Even the Koreans and Chinese know it as they started building their own.

Everything is probably nominated in another category as well...

Just something different:

Douglas Engelbart, "human-computer interaction" pioneer and inventor of the mouse (RIP).

I'm surprised matt3o isn't up there yet. He has organised multiple group buys from scratch, and has made some great contributions to building custom keyboards.

Yes that's true! The DSA Retro Groupbuy was one of a kind in terms of speed and organisation! He should be included!

TIL: webwit is in contact with the Other Side …

Maybe we should have ijprest for his keyboard layout editor — may have tried, but only one has succeeded …
