Realforce87 10th Anniversary Special Model. Available at Leopold. If I'm correct the first 100 buyers get some extra keycaps and such as well. See also this post at kbdmania. Uhm, it seems to have different colored keycaps, and red leds.

I want one even if there is no 45g version.

Is that cyberclean stuff any good? I saw it down ASDA (UK's walmart) and just thought it was another gimmick cleaning product.

It looks super cool but I don't see myself paying for another Realforce 87U which is not 45g just for the cool Keycaps.

They could sell the keycaps separetely then I would buy them

I believe this is the equal weight model, I'm not sure if it's 45g or 55g

Kant1971 at iomania told me they are variable weight, uniform 55g, and silent. The silent one I think is also variable weight.

Looks like free gifts are gone from leopold.co.kr but still available at iomania.co.kr via kant1971.

On the picture, it seems to suggest you can activate the virtual numpad by pressing the right windows key ?

I got that stuff, it feels, smells and looks like that 'slimy' stuff for kids from the 1980s.

First off it does not make things worse  i bought it for 3€ at a local electronics market, appenrently no one wanted it for full retail prize.
I use it to remove dust and the keyboard is looking almost mint afterwards.
Of course i don't know if it really kills germs and i assume it's not working on real dirt but it's ok to keep the boards good looking.

I will pick some up later on in the week and give it a go.

Actually I think there was a specific keyboard cleaning product based on the slimy stuff, and that it was reviewed not very good.

EDIT: Should read better.

I had no problems yet, but you shouldn't expect more than dust removal.

You might as well read some 'reviews'on the net before giving it a go.

Woohoo - RED LEDs! Kinda Retro. Kinda Hipster. Not much engineering involved THERE.

Topre must be run by a bunch of men. They forgot about their anniversary, so the did something half-assed to make up for it.

yep, just red LEDs. How is that commy keycap? OK quality? My son wants one. Oh, and some unknown coating on the keyboard. Humm... maybe the keyboard is "used".

The stupid thing, IMO, is that since it has blue and gray key caps, blue LEDs would have looked better. At least they didn't roll with green or amber; that would have looked horrible.

That's the texture on the KBC/OCN laser engraved PBTs. It's quite nice.

I'll be updating my review sometime with lots of pics, cleaning tips, and such. Even the spacebar after 6 months wasn't all that shiny.

Sorry, should be more specific. I mean to ask you how is the quality of the China Flag keycap. But would like to know about the PBT keycaps' quality. I have a set of white PBT but it was only used for 2 months.

What's going on under the spacebar in the first pic?

I think it is the same "coating" from the new 87U.

That sucks. IIRC, ripster's Filco is fairly old, and it definitely has seen heavy use. It wouldn't be too surprising if some wear started creeping in.

Such drama.

It's spooge. Those are "before cleaning" shots.

Been watching episodes of The New Girl on your hiatus?

ripster

06 Oct 2011, 17:56

Haven't seen it.

BTW I think MAYBE there's a bit of case discoloration there from the UV/Hardcoat. They must spray the entire case and keys together just like Elitekeyboards said.

itlnstln

That would seem awfully messy and sloppy. If Diatec really told Brian that, it might just be true. I don't think I would offer that information up if I were the manufacturer.

Not a biggie. The "ZOMG I Scratched The Filco Hardcoat" was the PING of 2010.

Shiny spacebars however are FOHEVAH!

Are you going to sand blast the spacebar?

BTW, my red-LED 87U anniversary edition is on its way. It was shipped yesterday South Korea time.

Good show. You get extra leet points for importing very expensive Topre special edition keyboard from Korea.
