@mal, I'm going to do some more internal digging over the weekend, I think I need to remove the caps to get the main PCB up (more torx screws ) which should tell me a little more. At the moment, it looks like all the seperate islands are dumb and connected to the main PCB which has the controllers. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing at this point, the only thing I can think of if that is the case is seperate controllers (and firmware) for each island and joining them all in a hub...
If the islands are small enough, you can poll more than one at a time from the same Teensy. If an island is 4x4, that's only 8 pins used. You get 25 I/O lines on even the basic Teensy 2.0, up to 46 on the Teensy++. You may well be able to drive everything over a single controller. If you still come up a few pins short, you can re-use one side of the matrix on multiple islands, presuming you either have diodes or aren't worried about ghosting possibly occurring. (If you have two 4x4 matrices, you can drive them as if they were a single 4x8 matrix, saving four pins.)

The flat switch tops below the tops of the key stems suggest ITW/Cortron magnetic valve to me.

ok could be. The picture is not the best. I`m not sure myself to be honest. Depending how high it goes we might find out.
ITW/Cortron magnetic valve would be great too. ;)

Those were the links:
Expensive: http://www.ebay.de/itm/261447588271
Less expensive: http://www.leboncoin.fr/equipements_ind ... 327136.htm
Way cheaper (still): http://www.ebay.de/itm/321738299141

The last one was at 25.50€ at the time of posting,
considering the other ones it was quite clear it wouldn't end there.
Still a bargain though.

The Deko one is Cherry Black, very similar to what my friend had once, cant remember what kind of printing of the keycaps is though, I'm searching some old pics of it

I had a Deko, it is black MX with DCS dyesubs. It works (mostly) as a standard PS/2 keyboard. To make it work fully you need a power supply for it, and to install a software bundle that is very hard to get from Pinnacle (unless you happen to have already some applicable registered products with them).

Ramnes posted a BIN ad for a load of cheap G81 boards at $30 each and suggested that we start a Group Buy. Minutes after, the ad had been bought. Then, hwood34 posts a thread on /r/mechmarket selling the same boards for $75 each.

ANSI dyesubs, and "only" 125$? Where's the catch?

Do you have any better picture Ivan?

It's hard to say for sure that that's exactly what happened, but the evidence seems to point very strongly towards that sequence of events. Still, no fun.

@ramnes: The catch is that they're DCS, not Cherry dyesubs! Still, I'm surprised to hear that SP makes DCS in PBT... gives me ideas for group buys!

I contacted the vendor a few weeks ago but did not have an answer, if someone wants to take his chance :)

wouldn't it be somewhat unlikely that someone who never logs in here would be scouring the great finds?

edit: on top of that someone who no longer is really looking for vintage stuff, and someone who almost never uses 1800

I hope you're kidding! Some people are adamant this thread needs to be closed from public view. (And always have been.) Seems strange to me that anyone so interested in keyboards they'd follow these links wouldn't also be interested in talking about them on the forum, but people are strange…

No I don't find either strange. I bet there are lurkers who like our great finds and have absolutely no intention of joining this community.

If that is the case, then why did you buy the lot of 1800 keyboards? Only to make money off of them?

What I meant was, I literally had not gotten on to the site. But yea, there probly are tons of lurkers (especially with vintage stuff that's harder to find).

Sorry, I gathered you had indeed bought that lot. If that isn't true, please ignore my comment.
