Muirium wrote: With caps like that: nope. It doesn't look like a Micro Switch board at all. (My Honeywell is Micro Switch branded inside. They were likely a subsidiary or at least close partner of Honeywell's.) Nothing about this board looks like Hall effect.

Look at the date: 1991. There's a chance it's a mech of some sort, but far from guaranteed. Could just be a dome. It's in good shape though. Maybe worth a punt.
Microswitch is just honeywell's switch and (sometimes)keyboard division. Even RD KBs like the one above are often microswitch.

Just do a search for microswitch: from HaaTa's univac to modern day industrial switches the most common application of that brand *by far* are actual microswitches, which usually look like this: Image

Now in the KB community, largely because of myself, it is well known that microswitch (honeywell) made a LOT of hall effect keyboards back in the day, that said they did use the microswitch brand for other KB and keypads later on.
examples:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/291001997560

So microswitch and honeywell are pretty much interchangeable, since they have been the same company since the 1960's at least

The seller wrote me that under the keycaps there isn't a single mechanism for every switch.

Just in case someone could find this Siemens-Nixdorf terminal keyboard interesting,
http://www.ebay.de/itm/111710589961
be warned that this is a rubber dome one, as you can tell by the horizontal lines that show underneath the keycaps.

That keyset looks really nice, but I believe that the bottom row has off centre stems
And/or is pad printed? Like with other special edition doubleshot G81s...
Yes it's a G81, the bottom row is off center and not usable on e.g a Filco etc.

Needs groupbuy.

I'm using a set like that with Ivan's purple modifiers.

True, and also be warned about the Massdrop GMK RGB group buy -- it's ANSI only!

the unidentifyd keyboard that I postet last is probably keytronic (from the discription that the seller have given me), anyway it is only local pickup.
The seller from the Honeywell keyboard added a picture of the switches in his auktion, rubberdome.

Another keyboard cherry g81, interesting keycaps

Big Enter only bothers me a little bit. Tiny Backspace, now that is a problem.

On some older Cherry keyboards I could work around this by getting a 2u cash register key, half weight springs, and just pressing two switches at a time. I mean, that's how stabilizers work on Hall effect keyboards.

Sometimes even clueless sellers do it right.

Still, a pulled cap shot would have really goosed that price.

This is what I get for browsing on mobile!

Yes, Der, that's a Nixie: the legendary MX switch that Truly Doesn't Suck. They're very nice indeed. I have one. So still a while before I can do a whole keyboard… The going rate for them tells me I never will.
