Clinton is a pro-war psychopath who killed many of thousands of innocent people, and will continue and rage more war. Trump killed no one. He grabs pussy. That is the reality. I find such a one-sided video rather sociopathic if they're advertising Clinton with it. That turns it into a pro-war video.

Both of them are despicable human beings but you have got to look at what policies that they are behind and what they are able to accomplish. Hillary can work with people, come to agreements. Trump can bully them. Trump is an elitist scumbag in a party of elitist scumbags who are out to wreck the world. Hillary is in a party with a somewhat (...) humanistic ideology in league with banks - and banks want stability in the world.

It's the same thing. Like voting in the old Soviet Union. No matter who wins, mass-spying will continue, oil wars will continue, the rich will continue to get richer at the expense of the middle-class, etc. etc. As usual, two parties are presented and the voters are polarized on significantly smaller issues or petty fights, not fundamental issues. The voters buy it, obsessed by those smaller issues, and then elect a sociopath. Look at that work class, who are going to vote Trump (anti-work class). Look at all the hipsters who are going to vote Clinton (pro-war, pro-super Stasi). Look at how polarized they are, cheerleading their favorite sociopath. And utterly incapable of voting for real change. So no matter who wins, the USA will get exactly what they vote for, even if the other side wins.

Sadly I have to agree with you on this webwit. Trump would probably implement more changes than Hillary, the question is what kind of changes... but I have to say I love your expressions as ususal..."pro-super Stasi". :o

I'm sorry, when I meant "wreck the world", I was referring the biggest issue that mankind is facing: climate change.
The US is in a decline for sure, and the situation is looking bad (but not as bad) for privacy and democracy in Europe too - especially with TTIP and ISDS. I don't think that Trump will be able to kill TTIP but I do think that he would be able to sabotage the effect or implementation of the Paris treaty. I think that Hillary will respect the Paris treaty. The US would drag behind and undermine the fight on climate change even with Hillary as president. But if Trump and the coal-and-oil-funded Republican party gets its way, we are all fscked.

Y’all are ridiculous.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/07/us/po ... -race.html
[...]On the surface, there is the semblance of stability that is robbing Hillary Clinton of her most potent weapon: Mr. Trump’s self-sabotaging eruptions, which have repeatedly undermined his candidacy. Underneath that veneer, turbulence still reigns, making it difficult for him to overcome all of the obstacles blocking his path to the White House.

The contrasts pervade his campaign. Aides to Mr. Trump have finally wrested away the Twitter account that he used to colorfully — and often counterproductively — savage his rivals. But offline, Mr. Trump still privately muses about all the ways he will punish his enemies after Election Day, including a threat to fund a “super PAC” with vengeance as its core mission. [...]

Mr. Trump’s aides were just as thrown by the tape. But they saw a chance to salvage his candidacy — on a Civil War battlefield.

His aides outlined 15 bullet points for him to deliver during an Oct. 22 speech in Gettysburg, Pa., to focus voters on a new theme of cleaning up government, even as several women came forward to accuse him of groping them just as he had described in the recording.

But Mr. Trump grew frustrated with the instructions. By the time he was done revising the proposed speech, only about a half-dozen of the original suggestions remained. And over the firm objections of his top advisers, he insisted on using the occasion to issue a remarkable threat: that he would sue all of the women who had gone public with the accusations.

As the advisers begged him to reconsider — it would make him seem small, they warned, and undermine a pivotal speech — Mr. Trump was adamant. There had to be a severe penalty for those who dared to attack him, he said. He could not just sit back and let these women “come at me,” he told one of them.

The speech was roundly criticized and seemed strikingly out of place on such sacred and historic ground. “The Grievanceburg Address,” one journalist deemed it. [...]

For the next week, his staff deployed a series of creative tricks to protect its boss from his most self-destructive impulses.

Several advisers warned him that he risked becoming like a wild animal chasing its prey so zealously that it raced over a cliff — a reminder that he could pursue his grievances and his eagerness to fling insults, but that the cost would be a plunge into an electoral abyss.

Taking away Twitter turned out to be an essential move by his press team, which deprived him of a previously unfiltered channel for his aggressions. [...]

So you're obsessed by this candidate's twitter account, and not obsessed by, say, the fact that tomorrow over 90% of the voters will answer to the question "Do you want more 1984?" a convincing "Yes please!"

webwit wrote: Why is it a bad thing that Trump gets along with Putin? The alternative would be that he wouldn't get along with Putin. We are blessed at the moment to be out of the cold war with a realistic, tangible threat of nuclear war.

On a side note, this reminds me of the EU and the Ukraine. One of the reasons we had the EEC and now the EU is because we never wanted a repeat of WWII. And now we're expansionist. We're fucking pulling at Ukraine. Putin is a very scary guy who has never backed out of bloody conflicts, to say the least, but we should thank higher beings that in geopolitics he has been smart and practical, instead of pointing nukes at us. We seem to be begging for a new cold war, by continuously fucking with Russia, with trade sanctions and with Ukraine for example. The EU has become the opposite of its original goal. If you think I'm dramatizing, there's a very real war in the Ukraine caused by these tensions, a very real plane with civilians was shot out of the sky, not to mention all the civilian casualties and pain it caused on the ground. Yah, EU. And yet they claim, cynically, that the whole approach is about peace. It is land grab. Hasn't history taught us: do-not-fuck-with-Russia.
I salute you, I really do!

My prediction:

I will not be at all surprised if Trump receives less than 50 million votes,
and I will be very surprised if he receives over 60 million votes.

Has been a home run for Clinton for some time now if you look at the electoral vote, the only "if" is what happened at Brexit. But I think the "tight race" narrative of the media is just to generate clicks.

Trump has been rising in the polls this past few week and from what I have seen they are not that far apart.
Calling it a "tight race" would be extrapolation of the current trend.

I doubt it. The popular and electoral votes will be quite heavy in favor of Clinton.

The drama will be the millions of hateful angry heavily-armed losers who will realize that they have been left out in the cold even more than ever before, and feel compelled to punish "somebody" for their loss.

Congratulations, Trump supporters. He's in office. I didn't think it was possible.

Hopefully something positive results from this. At the very least it will be an amusing, if cringeworthy at times, presidency.

Meh, same shit, different day. At the very most I'm expecting TTIP cancelled and ideally better relations with Russia. Not because Slovenia is "neighbour" country to Russia and eastern europe as most uneducated believe, but because good relationships with other countries are almost always a good thing.

In the mean time, maybe democrat voters can take this opportunity of 4-8 years of down time by learning where Europe is on the map. Or what a map is. That would be great.

I can't wait for his backpedalling on the great wall, though!

“Amusing” in the same way it’s “amusing” when your baby just crawled out the window and is currently falling 10 stories to the pavement below, but hasn’t quite hit the ground yet. Or “amusing” when your dog just ate 2 pounds of chocolate, but you didn’t catch it in time to pump his stomach so he’ll soon overdose and die a painful death. Or “amusing” when you get sexually assaulted by an orange man with bad hair, but you can’t go to the police or the newspapers because he owns the whole town and just threatened to have your family killed.

There’s a significant probability that in defanging the EPA, cutting funding for alternative energy, defunding climate research, eliminating or scaling back pollution controls on transportation and power generation, and promoting coal/oil/gas extraction and distribution, Trump will single-handedly push runaway climate change past the point of no return, rendering a significant proportion of the world’s land area uninhabitable in 100 years, and driving the largest mass extinction event of all time.

More proximately, there is a significant chance of a serious economic crisis sometime in the near future, to which Trump’s policy responses will likely be terrible, leading to a severe global economic recession. The US Federal Reserve has no more room to cut interest rates, and the GOP is unlikely to pass a large financial stimulus bill. So the after-effects in the US will be similar to the trajectory of Europe over the past 10 years. This recession could easily be worse than the previous one if not handled well.

A Trump presidency will cut taxes on the wealthiest, and work to help them siphon money out of the country and hide it in overseas tax shelters, making up the difference by regressively increasing taxes on the working class and middle class. It will loosen regulations on the financial services industry, leading to fraud, abuse, and continuing (worsening) large-scale indebtedness.

A Trump presidency backed by a GOP congress and supreme court will give increasing powers to police, intelligence services, and the military, scooping up increasing amounts of private communication and using them to go after journalists, dissidents, et cetera. He thinks we should open up libel laws to make it easier for him to silence critics. Note that Trump is currently embroiled in dozens of lawsuits for fraud, breach of contract, and the like.

As president Trump has promised to intentionally target families of “terrorists” for extra-judicial killing, bring back torture even in cases where it doesn’t work, “bomb the shit out of” civilians in countries he gets into conflicts with, start a war with Iran because their sailors made rude gestures at Americans on a passing boat, charge US allies around the world protection money by threatening to stop defending them, suggested we should drop out of NATO and other alliances, given Putin a green-light to do whatever he likes in Eastern Europe and the Chinese to do whatever they like in the South China Sea, and recommended that many more countries should have nuclear weapons. He apparently asked multiple times “why don’t we use our nukes”, and has recommended modernizing and expanding US nuclear stockpiles.

* * *

I feel very sad for the places which voted for Trump. They are extremely vulnerable and are going to get fucked hard by his policy agenda. Between being exploited/defrauded by unscrupulous lenders and businesses, having their towns wrecked by industrial pollution, having all their local businesses driven out of business by large-scale competitors from far away, having their schools and other local institutions and services defunded driving anyone with any ambition to leave and never come back, losing federal funding for social safety net programs and potentially losing retirement benefits, losing healthcare when their local insurers decide it’s unprofitable to do business someplace with non-functioning state support, having costs of food rise if/when undocumented immigrants are blocked from doing agriculture work and in some places having their agriculture industries severely strained thereby, having costs of everything else driven up by tariffs and trade wars, et cetera. Their 40+ year-ago blue collar industrial jobs are gone for good: modern industry is done with robots, not masses of unskilled and semi-skilled human laborers.

Essentially nothing Trump has promised will do anything to help anyone in economically broken and culturally irrelevant interior states full of angry uneducated old white men with guns. At least he won’t take their guns away, I guess.
