Cherry finally has got on the TKL bandwagon, and it's plate-mounted. Kind of interested...

Cherry is trying to stay relevant (in China at least)...

So, is "MX Board 1.0" (without the hyphen) a separate sequence from G80-1000 (which we assume to be MX-Board 1.0¹) and G80-3800/3850 (MX-Board 2.0 and 3.0)?

Since this is plate-mounted, it should be MX-Board 3.0 TKL, G80-3850, not G80-3810. I am not sure if they're trolling us or really that clueless about their own product range. (If the end is always ".0"—i.e. 3.0 instead of the expected 2.1 or 2.5—then what purpose does it even serve?)

I think the front and side protrusions should return to Elite where they belong.

¹ I guess G80-3000 is MX-Board 1.5?

Look's like this latest release from them, has the Filco-styled Caps-Lock instead of their freaky step down designed key.

Would be sad if they got rid of their age old caps lock to fit in with the Filco crowd, just means they are fast becoming boring and non-essential.

It only took them like 4 years...the sides look like a stealth bomber.

I think of the G80-3494 and 3600 as the MX-Board 1.0 (and perhaps 1.1!). IIRC they were only badged MX-Board, but I presume it works like monarchs (Lady Jane Grey being Edward VI.1).

The model numbering is already somewhat messed up with the 3930 (MX 6.0) and 3980 (MX 9.0). It seems odd that Cherry try to squeeze all the numbered MX-Boards into 38xx and 39xx when there's the whole of 10xxx and 15xxx going spare...

My ha'p'orth on the board while I'm here: pity it's plate-mounted again; the mouldings aren't to my taste either, and you can bet there'll be no white one; still, it's good Cherry are still making new designs, even if they're not world-available. (Are the 8.0 and 9.0 ever going to be sold outside Asia, I wonder?)

terrible terrible font... very silly "gaming" case design.

The keycaps look like those for the MX-Board 6.0 and there is a depression above the arrow key just like it has.

My guess is that this uses the same innards as the Cherry MX-Board 8.0 but a different case and keycaps. Images I have seen elsewhere reveal backlighting, probably RGB.
The MX-Board 8.0 seems to have regular Cherry profile and have been rumoured to have doubleshot keycaps.
