Sure that's Italian? Looks Nordic to me.

(we should put the Fine and the Slut keys together, though)

damn ... I feel bad for the "side slut" one ... getting rejected like that ... that's not fiar

P.S. : pretty sure that's a danish layout, but I always mix the nordic layouts so I could be wrong
I even found a xxx slut at the J key.

I think your right. I seen Italy at the title and was distracted by certain keys.

[Edit] And it's gone. That should be a fun keyboard for someone.

Sorry guys, couldn't resist. Those are basically artisan caps as far as I'm concerned. Am also a fan of the KOM-MANDO key :)

Will eventually sell my standard displaywriter to justify the purchase, so it will basically be like trading a run of the mill displaywriter for a unique one (in my mind anyway). The money is only the middleman. Wonder how it ended up in the US?

I can`t blame you, it's a pretty cool board. I might have grabbed it myself if I didn't have one already. What are you planning on doing about the missing paint in the front? Repaint the whole thing, or something else?

Hey, that works out. I bought one you posted here for $400.

Also you could swap cases since you have one already. Saves you the trouble of painting.

I don't have a good solution for repainting Beampsprings yet (powder coating is generally out for plastic cased ones) and color and texture matching is difficult without actual color samples which may not display properly on a computer screen.

However, I think I have an extra Displaywriter top from the monstrosity pictured below, which I have dubbed to be the worst condition Beamspring ever to be sold on ebay. Rustmaster's beamsprings? Not even in the same league. Springs were all completely rusted through and I guess a picture is worth 1000 words. Who knows, this one could be in the same condition underneath for all I know.

Of course it looked perfectly fine with all the caps on in the ebay auction picture, but you never know until you get it in person and start pulling caps:

Every buyer's worst nightmare. How much did you end up paying for that totaled one?

You could have a case professionally painted. Depending on the paint system there are products out there to get the textured effect. Since you can't powdercoat plastic the next best thing though is Cerakote which gives off no voc's.

That was about 2-3 years ago when the going rate was more like $200 I think, so right around there iirc.

Damn, that one was purty. Someone should run a spherical keycap tribute to it in a matching colorway.

FUJITSU FM Towns FMT-KB107. I bought the previous one this seller had. I believe mine has Fujitsu Leaf Spring 3rd gen clicky switches.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/152998334416

They also have what appears to be the white version for $85 less.

I haven't tried yet. It has an unusual connector. It's in my display at work right now, so I'll try to remember to take a picture tomorrow.

Snuci did a post about the more compact FM Towns board here and would presume the full size one is similar inside:
photos-f62/fujitsu-fm-towns-fmt-kb202a- ... 14986.html

Looks like you could just wire the membrane to a Teensy and use the controller firmware of your choice. Not sure if the white one would use a membrane or not to be able to do the same there or no. Looks like it uses more than 8 rows for whatever reason, otherwise you could use an Xwhatsit for a pretty straightforward setup.

Not sure what the original protocol used was. The connector looks similar to a PC98 connector, but I doubt it actually uses the same protocol. If it did, you could use TMK. Perhaps there's already a fork of TMK that supports the protocol it uses. Hasu could probably tell us more.

Sorry about the quality, I couldn't get my phone's camera to focus on the connector instead of the keycaps.

Maybe some hard-core enthusiast knows what these are?

Nice looking Soviet Checoslovakian Hall effect keyboard. These are single-spring hall effects, not the ones Chyros reviewed. Has anyone tried them?

Consul was a brand of Czechoslovak Zbrojovka Brno. Being from Hungary, you should know better than calling everything from the Eastern Bloc "Soviet". Even if it was for Soviet/Russian institutions.
