I was looking at the box of my g80-3000LQMDK and I noticed the label listed mine as serial number 000018. Which I thought was weird because the production date is listed as L43 01, which would be the last week of October 1999. There's no way they produced only 18 boards in 10 months, right? Anybody have any insight into how cherry they did/does their serial numbers?

My impression was that each keyboard MODEL got it's own serial number range.

So it would appear you've got #18 of the model G80-3000LQMDK

Even then I would have expected production to be higher by such a late point in the year.

They could've produced previous 17 boards the same day. Unless you have 000001 board you can't really know the time frame boards were produced.
