cut/copy/paste programmed keys in Mac OS X?

I'm on a hackintosh. I've tried programming custom buttons for cut/copy/paste on a pingmaster with hasu convertor, an F122 with a Soarer's and a f107 with an xwhatsit. But in any case they don't seem to work for me in any application in Mac OS. Is this an expected limitation of the OS or does anyone have it working?

I see that QMK* has particular codes KC_CUT, KC_PASTE etc but I suppose you could also program it as a macro that sends Cmd+C, Cmd+V for example. Did you try either/both of those methods or something else?

* I know hasu's is TMK but I figure they're similar enough

I tried with the built in media keyboard cut/paste etc. codes hoping I could use them and others. I guess Mac OS ignore them, was there never a media keyboard for Mac with such keys? oh well, not a big deal. I will use a macro as suggested to send cmd+c etc.

Definitely try a macro.

You’re right that Apple never made a USB keyboard with a Copy key (let alone a Browser key or the rest of them) so it’s likely they’re just not supported.

Volume keys and media playback keys do work, though, as Apple adopted those back in the PowerBook days.

I wonder which method the Matias Ergo Pro uses. I have one for my work Macbook but I'm not sure I've ever tried to use one of those keys.

Given Matias’ Mac centricity, I’d guess it’s a macro. Can barely remember touching them when I had the Ergo Pro myself. Copy and Paste are such deep muscle memory for me, in the alpha block where they always belong.
