Wyse PCE made in 1980?

I've got a Wyse PCE that has some conflicting markings on it. Molded on the inside of the case and built into the PCB are 1984 copyrights but the manufacture/inspection stickers all seem to identify 1980.

Unless that "80" on the date of that sticker means something else, how could a keyboard have been copyrighted in 1984 but made in 1980?

I think some manufacturers use a Taiwanese era-date. Year 80 is ~1991.

This is correct, a lot of keyboards are made in Taiwan and WYSE was one of them.
