Hi all,

Looking to get as it says in the title; some Model F's. Preferably EU (would go to Netherlands) given the size of these things.

Cheers,
C

I have a few Model F XTs. All thoroughly cleaned and working. Some floss-modded and one with modded spacebar. Keycaps in German and US.
If a price around 100 € would be ok, I could make a more detailed list.

I kinda hit the F zenith right out of the gate with my F122 IMO, layout wise.

Still feels so crisp. So perfect.

It's really hard to beat the F122 layout, one of the few vintage keyboards that have the same ANSI functionality of modern computers but you actually get more with the extra function keys, so you can make media buttons or macros. The only problem is the your mouse space gets cramped with the size of the layout and case. The thing is monstrous.

A good trackball can help with that. Well, that, and a massive desk.

I definitely have a large desk, but I need to fix one or convert one of the DT-225's I have. I like those things, but I need to either fix my black USB one(I messed up the PCB while working on it  ) or convert one of the older serial ones I have.

Just looked up that model. The beige ones almost look like they've got an egg in them!

An F107 was sold yesterday on ebay for 400 GBP. Chances of finding this model is quite rare.

.. only 400 GBP, the buyer must be very happy. I thought it would go much higher.

Yeah I saw it come and go with the opportunity to snag it. Not worth it IMHO.

Painted it black, all original keys gone for a horrific set of unicomp keycaps / tacky DT esc key, no beeper, no footstand (although not 100% sure if these come with it), backplate not heat treated so likely a replacement part.

I say it made sense it only got one bid.

I have two F107s but seeing as I’m in Asia and you’re in the Netherlands, shipping might be prohibitively expensive.

I don't mind he modded it with another color, keyboard-layout, keycaps .. You can always reverse the mods and do you own mods. I have a Model F-AT, but decided to keep the old layout out of laziness.

An unrestored F107 sells for 400 dollar , so 400 pound is actually not a bad deal..

Shipping and import duties are quite high. And DHL might be billing you afterwards for 30 euro administartion costs for handling the customs.

Oh, to each their own of course! If you're happy with the key feel alone then you're probably good there.

I'd much prefer to fix a complete 'original' myself rather than to go hunt for obscure pieces that are way overpriced in any case (re-legendable keycaps - oof!)
